Today's Outfit - Dark Denim

This jacket is loaded with pockets...2 at top and 2 on bottom.  I have owned it for a couple of years, but have only worn it a handful of times.  I really like it and am going to try to get more wear out of it.  I also have a lighter denim shirt that I think I'll be wearing within the next week or so layered underneath an orange sweater.  Sort of the reverse of this outfit.

I've also cut my hair nearly 3 inches and am considering taking off another inch or so.  It feels kind of good to be at that swingy shoulder length, but still long enough to pull back.

I did not buy as much as usual this trip.  I'm trying to cut back a little.  But I did purchase a few things I thought I'd post.

I guess I normally think of "neutral colors" as tans or blacks, but I wanted to join in the link up at Silverstyle's Trending Through The Decades: Neutrals and so tried to neutralize with cream and soft blues for a different approach.

Today's Outfit - Dressing Warm in Blue

We got a little snow here which is not a usual thing.  The roads cleared off nicely though.  Just trying to keep warm.

I normally don't work on Mondays, but had to go in today for a few hours.  Saw something funny on my way.  At the side of the road someone had made a snowman....or I should say snowlady.  She was very curvy at the waist and hips and had large snow bosoms. haha

Today is grocery shopping day and since I'm always freezing in there I'm layering up and dressing warm.  Brown turtleneck under an oversized  bright mustard colored sweater with a scarf (and coat on top of that) should do the trick.

Today's Outfit - Color Crush

These are some of my favorite colors.  I've had the matching necklace and earring set for a couple of years and never found quite the right thing to wear them with.  My new thrifted top was just the thing these accessories were in need of.  I purchased the teal bracelet for $1 at a fabulous little jewelry store downtown.  I'll have to visit it again soon.  They had really cute things at very low prices.

Today's Outfit - Classic Black

Work again today.  I only work Wednesdays and Fridays which makes me a happy lady, although I do love my job and people I work for.
I layered the scarf over jacket over black top and added faux pearls, soooo...I'm linking up with Trending Through the Decades: Layers with Tammy at Silverstyle.

I bought this jacket 3-4 years ago and have never worn it.  It actually came as a set...over a dress.  I never liked the length and fit of the dress.  The jacket was too tight.  I'm able to wear it now, but still didn't like the dress so I cut if off, resewed the bottom ruffle back on and turned it into a top, which I plan on wearing with a black cardigan because it's sleeveless and don't care for showing that much arm.  This was one of my first refashion attempts.  I'm a very beginner at sewing.  This was hand stitched.  Since then, my husband bought me a sewing machine right before Christmas and it has come in handy for a few things.  I'd like to practice more and do have some clothing items lined up that I plan on tinkering with to see if I can alter in some way. 
Here is a photo of the top I made from the dress.  I even made a little flower pin from the leftover fabric.  I'll probably wear it on the jacket some day when I'm not wearing a scarf.  I didn't think to take a "before" pic, because I had no idea my finished product was actually going to be wearable.

Today's Outfit - Green and Gold

Just a day at the office and I've worn a dusty green blazer over a gold sparkly sweater to match the gold threads in the skirt. 
I'm accessorizing with a green medalion necklace, green dangle earrings, and bracelet.  Finishing off the look with black tights, black boots and a dark green handbag.

Today's Thrift Finds

Below are some of the things I thrifted today and how I plan on styling a couple of them.  Everything (except scarf clips, which were 99 cents for the two of them) was discounted 30% at Value Village.  The blazer was my only purchase at Goodwill and it was only $1.29!

The top w/ tie below is new as well as the shoes.  They both look black in the photo, but they are actually navy.  One of the ways I'll wear these is to pair with my white jeans.

Navy/White Top=$5.60, Navy Pumps=$4.90

 The coat is a pretty salmon color (it looks slightly darker in photo than it really is) and medium in weight.  I just thought it was cute.

 The sleeveless ruffled top is new and one way I'll wear it is with my purple top underneath and jeans.  I really loved the colors in it.

 The red wedge shoes are new and I think I'll pair them with my Ralph Lauren sweater/navy pants and also with jeans and navy blazer.

The blazer has taupe and soft pink colors, which you can't see very well by this photo.  I am so glad I found this!  It's really pretty and was only $1.29!!!

 Gold Pendant Ball Necklace=$3.50

 I really liked this pearl/crystal looking necklace and it was $2.80.

Okay, so these were really a pair of earrings, but I had been looking for a double scarf clip and this will work perfectly!  I actually got 2 of them for a total of 99 cents.  I just used pliers and broke off the earring posts on back and filed down the rough edge and they're ready for my scarves!
