Workday Outfit: A Dressier Look For The Floral Pants

LOTS of photos today.  I reeeally liked this outfit. haha

These floral pants (worn more casually here) were getting very baggy on me so I did a little sewing alteration to slim them down a bit.  I dressed them up with a blazer and low wedge sandals and doubled up on the statement necklaces.  I'd seen other bloggers do this and liked the effect. 

 

Hairdo:  The Ponytail Pouf

 The bottom gold tiered necklace is fairly new and this it's my first time to wear it.  I may end up wearing it quite often as it will go with just about everything.

Printed T

I absolutely love this printed t-shirt.  The fabric is nice, I like the pattern, and it also has tiny stones on it in dark gray or black and clear ones.  I have been wanting to wear t-shirts with jeans and blazer for a while.  Within the last couple of months I was able to thrift a few t-shirts that I really like.  I've got a few more lined up that I haven't worn yet, but hope to while we have nice weather. (Well, truth be told, I've actually thrifted more printed t's than I really need.  Can't seem to pass them up when they're pretty and a good price.)
Hot pink seems to be in right now so I gave myself a hot pink pedicure the other day.

A Polka Dot Experiment

Had to show off my horridly painted polka dot nails.  I saw this technique on another blog and thought it was cute.  My nails were already painted a red color that was needing redone, so I grabbed some white and threw on some dots to see the effect.  I feel like my nails came down with a case of the chicken pox.  If I'd done a decent job it would be something I might repeat, but I obviously have no artistic talent (or steady hand) whatsoever, so this will go in the "Just For Fun" category. :)

I painted my nails last night and the color reminds me of bubble gum.  I prefer shades of red, pink or orange, but I'm going to experiment with a few other colors too just for fun.

Big Daddy Came Home With Me

Big Daddy is the name of my favorite nail polish I got yesterday.  I purchased 7 on sale at $1.50 each.  Big Daddy is a bright tangerine orange that is going to look great with a lot of my outfits.  My two other favorites are Thimbleberry which is a coral and Gogo Girl which is a bright red.  The aforementioned colors did not photograph quite the true color.  Maybe they'll show up better on my nails.   I usually only wear a China Girl red color called Salsa on my toes, but I've gone plum polish crazy. ha   I've got a horrible urge to go back and buy more.  I really don't know if I'll end up wearing the ones in the top photo much, but I'll try them out.  They may end up getting passed on to my daughter.

Today I'm wearing Big Daddy on fingers and toes.

I'm not sure if I'm up for spending 1 1/2 to 2 hours every 5 days to keep up my fingernails.  (Removing old polish, painting base coat, polish, top coat, and then dry time.)  And I know I won't be doing my toes that often.  They'll just have to be a different color than nails because I only give myself a pedicure once a month with a couple of quick touch ups in between.

What are your thoughts on wearing or not wearing the same colors on both? 
I'm going to try to have fun with my nails at least for the summertime....or until I can't stand messing with it any more. ha 
Another dilemma is that now there is the added stress of coordinating my ouftits to my polish.  So I'm going to have to find ways to not be boring with the same color scheme for 5 days in a row.  How do people do this on a regular basis??  I don't know if I'm up for the challenge. haha
