Weekend Outfit: Sunday Brunch

We decided (well, maybe I decided) at the last minute Sunday morning that we needed to go out for brunch.  I read about a diner online that got good reviews so off we went to try it out.  There were people waiting outside to get a seat.  We waited about 15 minutes, but ohhhhh was it worth it!  We both had the same thing (separate orders)...Countryside Benedict.  It was big, fluffy biscuits topped with 2 large sausage patties, scrambled eggs and gravy.  (The biscuits were underneath, not on the side like in photo.) On the side was hashed browns and fruit.  Here is a photo I found online from the cafe.  I think this is what we had only with the hashed browns rather than these potatoes.  Deeeeeeeelicious!!!  We'll definitely go there again....but next time we'll get a box to go.  I think our actual plates looked even more heaping than this one. Yep.  We ate the WHOLE thing.   They had to roll us out to the car. ha
It was really cool that day and I had to wear a winter sweater.  So weird in late July, but I get cold easily so it was necessary.  This was the first time to wear this sweater.  It was brand new with the tags on when I thrifted it.  I love when that happens.

These photos were taken when we got home.  Can you tell by my eyes (below) the food coma I was just about to fall into? :D

Workday Outfit: Just Go With It...

Well, I started out planning on wearing just a white t-shirt with these white jeans and scarf.  Then I thought about how cool our office might be and decided to add another layer.  I was originally going to wear it unbutton, but it looked neater buttoned.  Didn't realize you could see the t-shirt sleeves through the button down until photos were taken and I was needing to head out the door.  Too late to change into a more appropriate tank top so I just had to go with the men's undershirt look. :)
I also realize now, after the fact, that I could have rolled the sleeves up one more time and that might have helped hide the line of the t-shirt sleeve.  I don't believe that anyone I encountered today could have cared less (or even noticed) about any of the above though.
I really need to start trying that front partial tuck thing more often too.  That may have worked with this, but I didn't think about it at the time.  Plus, I am more comfortable with a loose shirt tail.  I would have been messing with that tuck all day and found it obnoxious. ha
So focus on the pretty scarf and cute sandals instead!  I love these blue green colors.
I have these same flip flops in a tangerine orange color too.  Today is my first day to wear either pair even though I've had them a for two months.  I know I am not going to get to wear all my summer things before the weather turns colder.  Sad.  I must not shop any more...unless I need a smaller size.  That is my mantra.  Ohhhh, but those thrift shop sales call to me so endearingly.....

Workday Outfit: A New Necklace

This necklace is another one of my low cost jewelry purchases I've recently made from eBay.  I got this about 3 weeks ago and this was my first time to wear it.  I was really happy with it.  So far I've liked all the necklaces I've bought from eBay.
This top was thrifted sometime prior to Sept. 2011 because that's when I started documenting in my computer files what I buy.  I may have worn it once a long time ago, but can't really remember.  I like the top, but it didn't fit too well until now.  Actually, I'm not crazy about the length of it and wish it were at least 3 inches longer.  A bit longer is my preference.  I think longer on my hips is a better look for me in tops, blazers, jackets, etc.
I do like the colors in this outfit very much....yellow, taupy/tan, and gold.

I'm happy to be linking up with the lovely Patti for Visible Monday at Not Dead Yet Style.

Workday Outfit: Loose and Slinky With Sparkles

This top is one of my favorites to wear.  I love tops with this slinky fabric (whatever it is).  It's loose and a little swishy.  Plus, the top, pants and sandals all have sparkly beading on them.  This whole outfit was 100% comfort and cute (I thought). :)
Although....do you ever have those days where you feel really good about your outfit and then not one single person says anything about it all day...when normally people make positive comments (in the real world...or hubby) about what you're wearing?  Then it kinda makes you wonder...."Am I the only one that likes my outfit today and am I delusional to think it looked good?"  haha  Yeah...that was today.   But, oh well, I was happy wearing it.

I've worn this top in the wintertime too...with a black turtleneck and different black pants.  I'll probably also be wearing it with my white pants before summer's over.

Thrifted Items:
Beaded Pants $4.20 (Value Village)
Black Short Sleeved Top
Slinky Tank $4
Beaded Sandals - Montego Bay Club

Anniversary Getaway

We had a great time on our 6 year anniversary 2 day getaway.  We didn't go far and only spent one night, but it sure was beautiful weather and scenery.  We stayed in Port Townsend at a cute little B&B.  This was within a few blocks walking distance to the shops, restaurants, and waterfront area.
I wore layers to dinner that evening because it was windy and a bit cooler.
Pants $4 Talbots, Blue Sweater $3 Charter Club, Brown Button Down $4.99 Allison Taylor, Silk Jacket w/pockets $4.99 Talbots, Sandals $5.60 Etienne Aigner.

We had a wonderful brunch at the Oak Table Cafe in the town of Sequim and drove around the countryside before heading over to Port Townsend.  Then we checked into our B&B and walked downtown visiting the shops and watching the sailboats.  There was one shop I loved there called Expressions, but I only purchased a pair of navy/teal earrings for $6.50.  They'll be perfect to wear with my new thrifted navy pants and a top I've planned.

We walked around and saw many lovely neighborhood homes.

The one below was a B&B/hotel that was for sale.

We also went to Fort Worden.  Fort Worden and Port Townsend are where they filmed the 1982 movie An Officer and a Gentleman with Richard Gere and Debra Winger.
We had an amazing dinner out at the Silverwater Cafe.  We were actually not expecting it to be so good.  We both had caesar salads and bread.  Then I had filet mignon, roasted red potatoes, and asparagus.  John had roast duck, risotto, and asparagus.  We both thought our meals were delicious.  And, of course, we followed up with desserts made fresh in house.   I had blackberry pie with local made ice cream and John had key lime pie with the ice cream.  We were glad to walk around a bit afterward.
For our B&B breakfast the next morning we had coffee, juice, muffins, fruit, quiche, sausages, and potatoes.
With all I ate on this trip I actually lost a pound so I'm happy that I don't have to live in deep remorse over it. ha
We took a ferry ride to get part of the way home and had a gorgeous view of Mt. Ranier.
