Thrift or Theft?

Golly men have long shirt tails!   I wore this to work Wednesday and numerous times had to use the ladies room. That's a whole lotta shirt tucking let me tell you!  I did not enjoy it. ha  I do love the colors of the shirt though so sacrifices had to be made.

Wardrobe Newbies: Blazers, Animal Print, Heels, and Jammies

Monday, I had to return a red blazer that I'd purchased Sunday because it had a stain on the sleeve and I ended up buying a few more things while I was there.

I also bought brown slacks that work well with the animal print top, blazer and shoes.  A complete outfit, including shoes, for under $20!  These will also work with my black slacks and new white slacks.
The blue blazer will look nice with one of my new white tops (that I have yet to wear) and white slacks.

Wardrobe Newbies - Sunday's Shopping

Value Village had 50% off all clothing, shoes and bedding (Sunday) so I shopped again.  This is what I wore below, but didn't have my hair and make up done.  Basic everyday no frills outfit with those old cheap rubber flip flops.  Oldees, but goodies. 

 And here are some of the things I bought.

I'm loving this style of cardigan that I just bought in brown.  Thin, soft, and lightweight, but a good layering piece.  I have similar in navy, black, tan, and cream, plus 2 gray ones in sleeveless vest style.

The cute teal and tangerine flowered sandals were new with tags on, are from Kohl's, and were originally marked at $20 each.  I got them for $5 each.  I know I see a lot of bloggers getting really good deals at Kohl's with their discount coupons, etc. ...but I never shop at the actual store and don't know how they get the coupons.  I'm wondering if you have to sign up for a Kohl's credit card or something.  I do like some brands at that store and would consider shopping there if I could get things discounted at thrift store prices. :)

The salmon/melon colors seem to be popular in my wardrobe right now.  I wore this to work on Friday.  The bottom photos are of a button down top and short sleeved sweater in similar colors that I wore Saturday.

I tried tying the shirt up, but didn't like it with these jeans, so I ended up wearing it untied.  I think the jeans are part of the problem and may have to go.  I recently purchased them and have only worn them once...but sometimes these things happen.

Wardrobe Newbies: Dress, Flip Flops, Purse

I threw this on to run to Value Village to make a donation obtained from my ongoing closet cleanout...and so of  course I HAD to go in...since I was there and all.... 
I had some things in my cart to try on, then I ran through the purses and found a cute salmon pink purse (Nordstrom) that went perfectly with one of the tops I had.  Well, the top ended up not looking right once I tried it on, so I on my way out I decided to run down the dresses aisle.  I never wear dresses, but found a cute summer dress from H&M (new with the tags still on) and it had the same salmon pink color as the purse in it...so I had to have it.  I'd also found (earlier in the shopping trip) a gray/black sort of dull metallic w/ gemstones pair of flip flops (Merona) that will go with the dress.  I love when whole outfits come together like that.  The dress is sleeveless and, since we don't have many super warm days here, I found 2 cardigans that I already own that will match really well.  One is a melony salmon color and the other is light gray.  Exciiiited!! :) 

Can't wait to wear this when our temps rise back up again.

Black/White Animal Print

I don't shop much outside of Value Village and Goodwill, but I happened to go into Ross Dress For Less a couple of months ago and found this soft and flowy, lightweight waterfall cardigan and slinky feeling sleeveless top.  I really liked them both and thought they were a good price.  I never thought I liked Ross before (although I'd only been in the store a couple of times and didn't look through the clothes much), but I was finding some really cute things that day.  I've been wanting to go back but my goal is to shop less this year so I've managed to stay away... so far.
I'll dress this up a bit at some point by wearing with nice black slacks, and dressier shoes.  Also plan on wearing with my white jeans and platform cork wedged sandals.

Flowers and Sequins

I really loved this t-shirt...especially for under $3.  I like the floral pattern, the pink/yellow/taupe colors, and the clear sequins (which you cannot see well in the photos).  I will probably pair the top half of this outfit with tan slacks and white jeans as well.  If I ever find the right soft yellow cardigan I think that would be cute with the t-shirt too.

Color Me Happy

I'm not sure if these are the most flattering pants on my body, but I sure felt good wearing these fun, summery colors to work yesterday.  And this may be THE most comfortable outfit ever (that's a huge plus in my book).
This is an outfit I can see myself reaching for frequently over the next few months.  I can wear without the cardigan if it's warmer (or switch to a different colored one)...and alternate t-shirt colors to coordinate with the many colors in the pants.

Outfit, Dinner, and Snack

This is what I wore on a trip with my daughter to Ikea and Home Depot.  She and her husband have bought their first place...a 2 bedroom condo which they get the keys for later this month... and so she's getting decorating ideas.  It's a fun and exciting time for her.

I ate a little over half and saved the rest for my lunch at work today.

 

Ingredients: leftover rotisserie chicken, coleslaw, broccoli, carrots, onion, mushrooms, ramen noodles w/ season pkt, cashews, soy sauce, peanut butter, rice vinegar, chicken broth, ginger, garlic salt, red pepper flakes.

And I'm hooked on these and eat one nearly every night.
