Weekend Outfit: Calvin Klein Skinny Jeans

I absolutely love my new black CK skinnies.  This is one of 2 pair of black jeans I purchased recently.
This is also one of my favorite cardigans.  I like the slinky fabric, fun pattern, and colors.  I wore it here a month ago.  I'm much happier with the outcome of this look as I paired it with the emerald sleeveless sweater and black jeans...but same lace up, open toe booties.

2 Greens + Gray

I have had this striped bright green top since February, but never got around to wearing it till now.  I'm trying to incorporate it into a fall outfit by pairing it with a long gray waterfall vest/cardigan, gray slacks, and olive purse.   I'm wearing green, gold, and black jewelry.

I liked this one.  It's a "feels like me" outfit.

Weekend Outfit: The Invasion of the Fake Love Handles

After seeing these photos I removed the belt and then went on my merry way to the grocery store.  I swear those are not my love handles protruding at the sides. haha  I am a little chunky, yes, but this is a misleading illusion, I tell you.  I had a shirt on under the sweater and I don't know if it bunched up and protruded over the belt or what...but I'm pretty sure that's not my middle hanging over.  I'm confident enough that's it's not, so I'll show you the pictures anyway.  I know my blogger friends would be too kind as to judge even if it were. :D

Weekend Outift: Emerald and Navy + What's For Dinner

These blues and greens are not a perfect match, but I liked the way they went together.  The earrings and purse are more emerald colors.  The little shooties are a dark brown color that ties in with the brown trim on the purse.  The pants are navy...however, the pants and boots photographed extremely dark.

 Easy messy updo.
Slightly tease crown to get pouf.
I just loosly pulled up with a clip and pinned a couple of pieces under.
 With new navy jacket/blazer.

What I Ate

Saturday's Dinner:  Filet Mignon, Lobster Tail, 1/2 baked potato, cheesy garlic biscuit (a Red Lobster copy)
Oh, my gosh, this was soooo good.  I've never had lobster at home and only tasted someone elses a couple of times when eating out.  Hubby cooked these w/ marg and garlic salt on the grill with the filet and we had an absolute feast.  The biscuits turned out so yummy too.  I'll be craving them now and probably making them way too often because they were so simple and tasty.  We ended up saving 1/2 our potato and some steak for Sunday's lunch.

It's In My Closet (outfit inspiration) + Guess what I found?

This outfit was inspired by a Penny Pincher Fashion post here.   When I saw it I realized I had a gray graphic long sleeved t-shirt in my closet that I'd not yet worn...and pair of pants I have only worn once that I could use to replicate this outfit.  I liked the idea of mixing a very casual top with a slightly dressier bottom.  So here is the recreation I came up with for myself.
I wore this to the grocery store and on errands so I also brought along a black blazer for warmth while shopping.

I just love this t-shirt.  I have a very hard time resisting these at only a couple of dollars or so.

I chose earrings that have the same teal green color as the flecks in the top.

Remember those sandals I thrifted the other day in 3 different colors...the Naturalizers I wore and talked about here?  I had mentioned that I wished they had them in black as well.  I was so lucky to find them in 3 colors at one time though and I was very happy with that.
Well....I stopped at Goodwill on my way to work on Friday and found them in black!!  I was thrilled!  I couldn't believe they had them in the exact style and the color I wanted and for only $6.99.  Whoo hoo!  (I have a similar style shoe also in red, navy, gold, and a burberry pattern.  Yes, it's a favorite.)
They're not anything fancy or exceptionally pretty, but they are perfect for a lot of my outfits.  Comfort is a major factor for working all day and these pass that test beautifully.

I love how the colors in the scarf tie in with the rest of pieces in this outfit and the accessories.  This was another of my "feel good" looks for myself.  I'm happy with the length of the pants (another pair that I've slimmed down to fit after some weight loss) and my new sandals are super comfy.  I thrifted these a couple of days ago along with 2 other pair that are identical.  These are what I call a butterscotch color.  I also got a pair in white and one in a nude tone.  They were each $5.99 and looked like new so I couldn't pass them up.  I knew these would be a good go to shoe for work, or any occasion, and that I could walk in them comfortably all day.  I really wish I would have been lucky enough to find them in black as well.
The drape and partial tuck of the scarf into the belt was accidental, but I ended up quite pleased with how it turned out.  Since it has been recommended by some other bloggers that I tuck in my shirts (or maybe belt them)...or I guess just not leave them hanging out loose, haha...I was playing around with adding a belt.  I really thought it accentuated the width of my hips too much, but then was also working with how to wear the scarf and ended up with this look.  I liked it.  I felt much more comfortable in wearing the belt by adding a bit of length in the front and partial covering with the scarf.  I could have tucked it all the way into the belt, but I liked this look best for today.
