Coral, Navy, Gray + Faux Bun

This new top is now one of my favorites.  It's simple, but is made of a slinky fabric I like and feels good to wear against my skin.  It has a tiny elastic around the waist with a tie.  I normally do not like that type of elasticized waistband on me, but this is an exception.

I wore it with my navy waterfall cardigan and navy sandals.  I'll be glad when we have a few days warm enough to wear it without the cardigan...but we don't get a whole lot of those.

My hair is no longer long enough to create a big "messy bun" so I wrapped a scarf up into it to make a faux bun.  I quite liked it and will look for other scarves in my collection to do this hairstyle with again.  This scarf was in a different pattern, but had the same color palette as the rest of my outfit with navy and coral colors.

Workday Outfit: A Dressier Look For The Floral Pants

LOTS of photos today.  I reeeally liked this outfit. haha

These floral pants (worn more casually here) were getting very baggy on me so I did a little sewing alteration to slim them down a bit.  I dressed them up with a blazer and low wedge sandals and doubled up on the statement necklaces.  I'd seen other bloggers do this and liked the effect.

 The bottom gold tiered necklace is fairly new and this it's my first time to wear it.  I may end up wearing it quite often as it will go with just about everything.

These are one of the nine pair of shoes I recently bought for $4 each.  I'm totally in love with them.  They're comfy and will go with so many of my outfits.  And they match my purse perfectly! :)

Pouf de Do

I love a good hair pouf.  So many days my hair is a mess, so I just tease, pull it back in a ponytail or clip it up and go.

 I also ended up really liking this lipstick.  I think it was the first time I'd worn it.  It is an extremely inexpensive brand (Wet n Wild) and called Copper.  I decided I wanted more of this same color since it will be a good color for fall and winter and will look nice with many items in my wardrobe.  So I ran in the drug store before we did our grocery shopping and bought the 4 tubes they had left of it since the price said only 99 cents.  But...super bargain!  When they rang me up, with my card discount, it was only 69 cents each!  I think that's what I had paid for my original tube.  I have so many lipsticks....because I stock up when I find one I like at these prices.  I like having what I call a Lifetime Supply of things like these because I'm afraid they'll be discontinued.  Would this behavior fall in the realm of hoarding? haha  I have not filled up all rooms of our home with my items, so I don't think I need an intervention just yet. Do you have anything you like to stock up on?

Steel Magnolias

I feel a bit like one of the ladies in that movie today because of my big hair.  I'll imagine that I've just left Truvy's Beauty Parlor and am on my way to meet up with my best friend M'Lynne for lunch.

The Long And The Short Of It

Longer dress today with shorter hair.  I have been inching my way up to the just above the shoulder length that I had wanted.  This is absolutely as short as I can go (and want to go) in order to still be able to wear it in updo styles too.  I always just cut my hair myself (as is probably evident, ha) and I nowadays figure it's just hair and if I decide I don't like it that it will grow back in a few months. 
I wanted to wear this dress one last time before I re-donate it.  It's rarely worn and not my favorite on me so I will be letting this one go.

Summer Updo's

Yesterday I saw this video from a blog I visit and thought I'd try out the hairstyle.  I didn't get it exactly right (partly because my hair is much shorter than Carah's), but it's supposed to be messy anyway and gives the illusion of a heavier bang.
