Winter White With Pearls

I love the large fold over collar on this sweater.  I think the collar, softness, and color makes this this a little more special than your average every day cardigan.
I accessorized with just elegant pearl and gold drop earrings, gold watch, and gold bracelet.
The white sweater worn underneath is new and a good staple piece for my wardrobe.  I have many other like it in different colors.
I do have another sweater and turtleneck in a caramel color that more closely match the shade of the pants that I could wear as an alternate color to the white for another option under the cardigan.
I have not even tried wearing this cardigan with jeans yet.  It's very exciting because, in general, outfit possibilities seem endless and I'm always getting new ideas from other bloggers. It makes dressing so much fun!  :)

I'm wearing my favorite lipstick of the moment...Wet n Wild 514A.

Red and Gray + Fringe

This scarf was a hand me down from my daughter. There is also a cute knit hat that goes with it.  I should have put it on for a photo, but didn't think to do it.  I rarely wear hats because they mess up my hair.  ha
This is one of my favorite casual outfits.

Workday Outfit: Sweater Style

This is a new sweater and I love this style.  These sweaters are basic, soft, and can be dressed up or down.  I have a cobalt blue one, an emerald one, and a gray one (blue and gray I've not yet worn) and this week I also thrifted 3 others... one in bright red, one in taupe, and one in tan.  The taupe, tan, and the gray have more of a turtleneck.  These will all be definite fall/winter and even spring staples for me.

A first time wear for the pants too.

Another reason for bright lipstick...to tie in with the scarf and earrings and add a pop of color to the black.

New Necklace + Dinner

I've had this necklace for a month or two, but this is the first time I've worn it.  Love the colors and style of it.  I was able to wear my brightest red lipstick to go with it.

I like red and brown together.
Dinner:  Pasta with an alfredo tomato sauce with sausage - garlic toast.  I saved leftovers for a lunch meal.
This sauce turned out really good.  I was trying to make one like I'd had recently at Olive Garden on their ravioli.
I just used margarine to brown the sausage, then stirred in a little flour to make a paste, added in chicken broth and skim milk. Then added in some fat free cream cheese, a drained can of diced italian tomatoes, basil, garlic salt, onion salt, pepper, and 1 pkt equal...and a little parmesan cheese.  Mmmmmmm....mmmmmmmm.......
(I would have also added in diced red pepper and mushrooms, but I forgot.  And I used the remains of a box of bow tie and penne pasta.  I would normally prefer just bow tie for this dish.)

Step Right Up And Win A Prize!

I called this my "used car salesman" jacket because that's what it reminded me of.  My boss, however, said I reminded him of a carnival worker or game show host.   I see his point. haha
But when I saw it in the store I couldn't help myself.  I liked the colors and didn't really see the comical aspect of it until I got home.  I may only wear it another time or two and then get rid of it.  We'll see. ;)
I have on a navy cardigan with sleeves rolled up over blazer sleeves, but in photo below I left it unbuttoned to show more of the peachy top.
I will probably also pair this jacket with a red top and red flats...maybe my yellow turtleneck too.
I actually ended up wearing it with the navy cardigan buttoned AND the jacket buttoned.  Maybe I should just wear it as an open jacket rather than buttoned up blazer?  If you indulge me in my wearing of it...do you like the crazy plaid jacket better unbuttoned or buttoned?
I'm wearing my navy skinny jeans again.

Navy Skinnies Tucked in Booties

Other than the slight issue of occasionally having to hoist up the rear of these britches...I love them.  I have trouble finding pants that fit my legs right.  Usually all pants that fit in the waist/butt are too baggy in the leg and too long and many times I end up altering them to slim them down a bit.  I can't imagine why the legs are baggy because, let me tell you, I have some substantial thighs. haha  I remember going to my old general practioner (who knew my grandma who had been a nurse) and him telling me I had thighs like my grandma!  I was 17.  Not what I wanted to hear...and not something I'll ever forget.
Soooo, back to the pants.  Well, I like these because they are fitted without making my legs look like two bulging sausages stuffed in them. haha
I also love this lightweight cardigan.  This type of cardigan looks much better on me (I think) that the standard style...which I wore in a wine color the other day, griped about, and have since gotten rid of.  This thin style and longer length I just find to be more flattering to my body shape and age.

The blue gray bracelet is new.  Can't see it very well, here, but it is a muted tone and color very similar to the cardigan.
I liked the way my hair turned out today.  There was no special rhyme or reason to it, so it will be mere chance to duplicate it again...but I'm going to try.  (My naturally curly/frizzy hair has always been a point of frustration.)
Some orange accents and gold hoops accessorize this look.
I get a lot of wear out of these dark brown booties.
(Not sure why the pants below the knees photographed a darker color.  They're not two toned. ha)
