A Rare Thrifting Mishap

These pants are fairly new and I love the material and fit.  The length is good for spring/summer as I do generally prefer pants to hit nearer the ankle... and these don't fit like a shorter mid calf capri.

 Another thing that makes me happy about this outfit is the color palette...cream, white, gold.
This is a thrifted tee that sells at Target.  Over the last year or so I've noticed my Target t-shirt (and other similarly styled brands) collection growing.  I never realized how much I liked them.  This one was only $1.39!  How cheap is that?!  And in perfect, never worn condition.  I think they probably sell retail at really good prices, but you just can't beat a little over a dollar for one.

Bummer about the shoes.  They were brand new and broke the first day I wore them.  We tried to super glue them and I attempted to wear them a second time, but it didn't work out.  That's a shame because I really liked them and had plans to wear them with numerous outfits over the summer.  Oh well.  I buy quite a lot of shoes and every so often this happens.  At least I was only out a few dollars.  Overall, I have pretty good luck with my thrifting so I can't complain.

A Scarf Adds Style

 This outfit was worn a week or two ago when the weather was still in the high 60's.  I continue to wear sandals on occasion when the weather is still that mild.  I know most people are rushing to wear their booties, but I'm always hesitant to let go of the sandals and of hiding my last toenail polish until spring.  I like to give my toes a rest from polish for a few months when they'll be hidden with closed toed shoes.

I did thrift a couple pair of new booties recently and I'll be showing them soon.

This scarf is one of my favorites and I thrifted it for under $3.  I love adding the element of a scarf to make an outfit look a bit more stylish.  This is a very simple outfit consisting of off white jeans and a plain tee with sandals, but by adding the pretty scarf and a necklace it transforms from plain to casual chic.  I could have exchanged the sandals for a low heel to further elevate the status of the look, but this day was a casual errands day for me so I'll save the dressier shoes for another time.

 I recently purchased a variety of bracelet sets from ebay for around $1.25 per set.  I wear this type of stretchy style a lot.

A Neutral Color Scheme

 A neutral, monochromatic outfit is one of my favorites.

 I thrifted this scarf several years ago and I feel it makes such a pretty addition to an outfit.

Paper Umbrella Print Topper

Oooooh, I love my new semi-sheer topper with paper umbrella print!  This is a find that gives me that "thrifter's thrill!". haha  I only paid $2.39 for it!  Can you tell I'm excited? :)

 I'm wearing it with, another favorite, my dark brown Chico's jeans and a new pair of dark brown/cream sandals w/buckle.

OOTD: Casual Chic In Chico's Cardigan and Ralph Lauren Loafers

This outfit is relaxed in style, but still maintains a bit of casual chic by double layering an off white and a light peach scarf with fringes over a neutral base which includes a favorite Chico's cardigan.

 Adding rich accessories with the caramel toned purse and loafers along with multiple bracelets also helps to create a more put together look with a laid back feel.

Another of my favorite thrift finds was this pair of Ralph Lauren flat loafers I picked up for $4 back in 2012.  I love their creamy caramel color, the little bows, and the fact that they are soooo comfortable.

Shoe Success!

This is one of my favorite scarves I've purchased this season.  It's a gauzy material in cream, gray, and black.  It works well with many things in my wardrobe.

This sweater vest will be able to be worn in many ways as well.  I have several other outfits planned with it already.

Yay!  These ballet flats passed the test and a painless day at work was had.  These are a solid color, but have a sort of fish scale like pattern.  They are the kind of shoe that has a little flexibility and makes them more comfortable.

First off, hello to Suie, my newest follower.  I clicked on your photo, but was not taken to a blog or email so that I could say hello.  Any new followers...it would be wonderful if you'd leave a comment to let me know if you have a blog so I could follow back or so that I could just reply to you here to let you know I'm happy to meet you.
Thank you to all of my followers and visitors.  I have never been much of a fashionista in my lifetime so everything for me is trial and error/hit and miss.  Thanks for sticking around during the good and bad fashion days. :)

If I'm venturing out of the house I like being casual in a comfy (yet not sloppy) way.  Here are two OOTD attempts at a casual chic look.

I ended up tying the scarf.  I didn't like the undone look with this particular scarf after seeing the photos.

New snakeskin print flats to go with the snakeskin print scarf.  I loved these shoes so much, but after several hours of wear they began to rub my feet.  I will try to cushion the heel and wear a little half footie sock next wear and see if that helps.

I actually wore my gray flip flops with gemstones with the outfit below, but tried to elevate the look with a pretty scarf added to this navy sweater and added red lipstick.

New Snakeskin Print Blouse

I just loved this gray and cream snakeskin print blouse when I found it.  I have hardly ever worn thin dressy blouses before, but in the last couple of months I've bought 4 of them.  Other than this one, I also got 2 animal prints ones and a minty green with white polka dot one.
I wore my cream silk jacket over it on my way to work on this slightly cool morning.
