Supersized Accessories

 I have had this dark chocolate brown lace skirt for absolutely ever. :)
I'm wearing it here in a different way than I ever have before.  I liked the idea of adding the super wide black belt and black tee...along with the turquoise earrings for a bit of color.  Since my earrings (and belt) were so large I skipped adding a necklace.
Slightly adjusting the styling an old favorite  is a great way to make it feel new again.

Remixing My Wardrobe Pieces And My Process For Doing It

None of these pieces are new.  I've worn this all before...but not in this combination.  It's fun to remix your wardrobe pieces and come up with new outfits.

I'm forever being inspired by other bloggers.  I get ideas from what I see (it may be from a color combination, a particular clothing item, etc.), I realize I have similar pieces in my closet, then I pull out the items and put together an outfit.  I'll photograph it for future reference.  I even make up folders by month and then drop these photos into the monthly folder in which I think I might like to wear that particular outfit.

I'm always tweaking and adjusting these folders...moving things around.  I have outfits planned for up to mid year 2015! ha  I think the planning and putting together of outfits is the most fun part of this little hobby of mine (besides the actual bargain hunting part).
I have a master folder that contains 0ver 900 outfits I've put together and photographed.  Yikes!  I try to discard some of my least favorites from time to time or ones which contain pieces I no longer own.  Many of the outfit combinations I have put together I've never even worn.  Some are planned for a future date and the others I always think I may get to.... someday.
You can create a ton of different outfits starting with just a single scarf.  And I have a multitude of those!   :)

Teal and Gold

My second way I've chosen to wear this versatile maxi skirt is once again with a cardigan, but with teal and gold accents. 

 My new teal and gold necklace worked perfectly with the print top.  Can't really see it here, but the top has a gold thread running throught the pattern.

New Maxi Skirt For A Sunday Brunch

I wore this last week to a Sunday brunch with a few of my employers/co-workers.
It's very rare these days that I buy clothes that are not thrifted, but I bought this skirt at Marshall's.  However, it was on clearance for $15...which is more than I'd spend on a thrifted skirt, but I just never find maxi's at the thrift store.  I felt this would be a nice neutral addition to my core wardrobe pieces.  I will be able to wear it all year round.  I'm thinking it will look cute with a pair of my new suede look ankle boots and a chunky cardigan.

Maxi Skirt

Had to pull out this maxi skirt for a loose comfy fit during a weight gain period for me.  Ohhhh, why does dieting have to be so hard?  I try to look at it as adopting better eating habits rather than "dieting" but it's still always a struggle for me and my willpower. ;)

 I felt like I had a good hair day (and I delight in those rare occasions) so 2 close ups today. :)

The skirt, top, sandals, bracelets, and purse were all thrifted, but the only thing I have a price for is the purse:  $13 Nine West.
