New Strappy Sandals In September

I purchased these cute sandals in early September and this outfit was worn over a month ago.  I loved the criss cross straps and double gold buckles on the sides.

This is another of my super inexpensive ebay scarves.  I love the gorgeous red, yellow and green colors in this one.  My new red scarf holder accessory worked perfectly with it.

Simple Black

I love the simplicity of this outfit.  It perfectly suits my style.  The base is just a pair of black jeans and a sweatshirt/sweater.  I added a cute pair of loafers with bow detail, a little neck scarf from ebay and a pair of earrings I thrifted for only 69 cents.
This could absolutely be my daily "uniform". 

Have you ever asked yourself the question..."What pieces in my closet would I choose if I could only pick one top, one bottom, and one pair of shoes to wear for the rest of my life?  You know...a sort of if I were stranded on a desert island type question.
What items would you choose?

When I think of the answer to that question for myself and consider my fantasies of having the wardrobe of a minimalist.... I imagine how it would be to have just a few pieces of clothing reflective of what I'm wearing here.  A few pieces that I really love, feel good in, and could wear all the time.
Would I feel freedom in that choice?  Would I get bored?  Maybe I'll make it happen someday and find out.
I am pretty proud of myself for seriously cutting back on my thrifting.  My goal this year is to spend less than half of what I did last year.  So far so good!

The Loafers Are Winning

 Loafers seem to be my shoe of the season.  A year ago I probably leaned toward the low heeled mule as my much worn shoe.  I have to admit, the mules elevated my outfits to a nicer look...more polished...even when worn with jeans.  This outfit would have looked more dressed up with my red mules, but loafers and comfy casual seem to be winning out as of late.  Nothing wrong with that, right?

Dinner and an Outfit

 Dinner was butternut squash ravioli with portobello mushrooms and a spinach/carrot/tomato salad.
We have had this ravioli twice now and it is so good.  It comes in a package in the refrigerated section and it's by Rana.  I just tossed it with a small amount of olive oil and topped it with some sauteed mushrooms.

 These simple long sleeved tees have become my favorite thing to wear.  No matter what the brand, solid or striped, as long as they're soft and comfy I'm happy.  I can throw on one of my million scarves with them, ha...a necklace, layer a jacket or cardigan over them...and I've got my favorite casual style.

A Favorite Outfit + Life Updates

This is one of my all time favorite outfits.  I love all the pieces used for this look.  I felt I was even having a good hair day...which is always a bonus since I feel those are rare for me. :)

Some family health issues have caused a shift in my priorities.  My blogging may be a bit less frequent, but I still plan on posting some of my thrifted outfits when I can.  Optimum health for myself and loved ones... and reducing my wardrobe... are the focus for the coming months.
Therefore, I will have fewer new thrift purchases and more repeat outfits.  Since I consider this blog my "outfit journal" some days there may be new combinations of things I already own... and sometimes repeats of favorites.  I want to re-wear outfits I love more than I have in the past.  Less shopping and fewer new wardrobe additions will allow me to focus on doing that.
