I'm wearing a new light weight sweater and new necklace. I really like both pieces. This style of sweater will work well on it's own most of the year and also layered under a cardigan in the colder months.
I took my navy Ralph Lauren jacket to the grocery store because it's always cool there.

New Scarf With Neutral Navy
After my last post's very bland look I decided to go with some color here. It's actually a head to toe neutral navy base, but I've spiced things up with color from my new scarf and the lipstick. This becomes one of my "outfit favorites".

Hello Again Navy Skinnies! + Whole 30 Day 5
This outfit was worn on Saturday. I realized the scarf was very wrinkled, but we were just running to the grocery store and a couple of errands and it would be underneath a buttoned up coat with not much actual scarf showing so I didn't take the time to break out the ironing board and iron it.
I am so happy that I am now fitting back into my navy skinny jeans. Yay!
I have had this sweater for probably at least 12 years, but hardly ever wear it. I do like it's oversized casual feel though and will be keeping it.

Day 5 on our Whole 30 I broke down and weighed. You're technically not supposed to weigh yourself until after the 30 days is over. I am an every morning weigher and so I was just too curious to know if I'd lost any weight. So on Day 5 (as I write this) I weighed myself. I am very happy I broke this rule because the 5 and 3/4 lb weight loss I've acheived thus far is giving me added incentive to complete this program and to incorporate many of the healthier eating habits I'm learning into my daily life afterwards.
Here's what we had for dinner on Day 5: fried tilapia w/almond meal coating and homemade tarter sauce, steamed broccoli w/ghee, parsnip/carrot mash w/ghee, and bananas/pineapples.
This was a really good meal! We enjoyed it and will put this on our repeat list.
(please excuse the lovely mismatched dinnerware - ha)

Roar
I've worn this scarf several times before, but never with the print of the lion visible. After viewing these photos I did make some adjustment of the scarf. I tied it around in back and continued the asymetrical drape over both shoulders, but kept the lion head situated in about the same place. As it is in these photos, it looks as if I have my dinner napkin tucked in and I'm getting ready to chow down. haha
Sometimes that happens...you realize this or that is a little off and you can correct it. Problem is I usually don't get photos of the improvement. But that's okay. :)

Step Right Up And Win A Prize!
I called this my "used car salesman" jacket because that's what it reminded me of. My boss, however, said I reminded him of a carnival worker or game show host. I see his point. haha
But when I saw it in the store I couldn't help myself. I liked the colors and didn't really see the comical aspect of it until I got home. I may only wear it another time or two and then get rid of it. We'll see. ;)
I have on a navy cardigan with sleeves rolled up over blazer sleeves, but in photo below I left it unbuttoned to show more of the peachy top.
I will probably also pair this jacket with a red top and red flats...maybe my yellow turtleneck too.
I actually ended up wearing it with the navy cardigan buttoned AND the jacket buttoned. Maybe I should just wear it as an open jacket rather than buttoned up blazer? If you indulge me in my wearing of it...do you like the crazy plaid jacket better unbuttoned or buttoned?

Navy Skinnies Tucked in Booties
Other than the slight issue of occasionally having to hoist up the rear of these britches...I love them. I have trouble finding pants that fit my legs right. Usually all pants that fit in the waist/butt are too baggy in the leg and too long and many times I end up altering them to slim them down a bit. I can't imagine why the legs are baggy because, let me tell you, I have some substantial thighs. haha I remember going to my old general practioner (who knew my grandma who had been a nurse) and him telling me I had thighs like my grandma! I was 17. Not what I wanted to hear...and not something I'll ever forget.
Soooo, back to the pants. Well, I like these because they are fitted without making my legs look like two bulging sausages stuffed in them. haha
I also love this lightweight cardigan. This type of cardigan looks much better on me (I think) that the standard style...which I wore in a wine color the other day, griped about, and have since gotten rid of. This thin style and longer length I just find to be more flattering to my body shape and age.
The blue gray bracelet is new. Can't see it very well, here, but it is a muted tone and color very similar to the cardigan.
I liked the way my hair turned out today. There was no special rhyme or reason to it, so it will be mere chance to duplicate it again...but I'm going to try. (My naturally curly/frizzy hair has always been a point of frustration.)

Some orange accents and gold hoops accessorize this look.
I get a lot of wear out of these dark brown booties.
(Not sure why the pants below the knees photographed a darker color. They're not two toned. ha)
