Look what I got!

Isn't it cute?  Yesterday I thrifted this little red and white gingham purse.  It is trimmed in denim and the lining is denim also.  It only cost $3.99 and I couldn't resist it's sweetness.  I have a button down blouse made out of what looks like the same exact material, but wearing the two together would be overkill even though it would fulfill my matchy matchy tendencies.
Some of the other things I thrifted are:

Burnt Orange Sweater $3.99 (It appears brighter orange in photo than what it is.)
Scarf $1.99
Pewter Leaf Necklace $4 (I also got the dark brown tank top with gold shimmer that is under this necklace. $2.99)
Gray and White Striped Draped Cardi $5.99
(I really liked this and had been wanting one in this style.  I think the pewter leaf necklace may work well with this.)
It has finally warmed up here.  This is what I'm wearing on my super exciting Sunday of taking the dog to the groomer. haha

Emma is our airedale terrier, but she no longer has the show dog cut because she's 15 years and something which is over a hundred in people years...so we just go for quick, short, and the easiest on her as possible.  Her legs are weak and I think they even usually end up shampooing her while she's lying down.
Another thrift store is right across the street from the groomer so I just may have to pop in there for a minute too. (I did....and purchased 2 tops.)
Then we came home and had Bananas Foster Waffles w/ Ice Cream for a wonderful brunch!  Yum!  I didn't get a picture, but it looked similar to this...
...except we mashed the bananas for the sauce.  This was the first time I'd made it and it turned out delicious.  I used a recipe from allrecipes. com, but didn't make the whipped cream since we used ice cream.  We also cut the recipe in half for the two of us, but next time I will cut it by another half.  It made too much...but we forced ourselves to finish it. haha

Linking up with Patti's Visible Monday at Not Dead Yet Style.

Thrifted Items:  White cropped pants, pink ruffled top w/ bow $2.99 International Concepts, t-shirt, necklace, bracelet, purse Nine West.

  1. How did I forget that you have an Airedale? What a sweet name-Emma. I lady in Australia wrote a book called Emma's Journey about her Airedale. It's a tear jerker.
Love, love that leaf necklace as well as everything else you got.
How can manage to wear white to take her to the groomer? I always end up with hair and snool all over my jeans and white would look like a CSI investigation had taken place on them.

    1. hahaha Well, John took her in. I'll run in to pick her up and hopefully she'll be snool-less for about half a minute since she just got cleaned up. lol But I know what you mean. When I wear white to work or whatever, the FIRST thing I do when I get home is head for the bedroom to change because the white would not stay blemish free for long around her. She likes to rub her nose on everything. We have to cover the sofas because after she eats or drinks she uses that as her gigantic napkin to clean her face. Gross....I know. haha

    2. Oh Lisa, I know exactly what you mean! Ours do that too. One of my dales would use me as his napkin. I had to run from him and he would follow me trying to wipe his face! Harry is a pants licker. I have a terrible time trying to keep him from licking my pants. I told my husband that if a CSI ever looked at my pants he would see a whole lotta snool and stuff. Airedales are a world unto themselves. Have I ever told you about the Airedale-L email list? There are some fantasic writers on there that can make you laugh and laugh over their antics. No other breed is quite like them.

  7. Lisa, you look lovely once again. I love that pink-ribboned empire waist on your top. The bag is so fun too. But what really got my attention, I'm ashamed to say, is the photo of the food! I'd force myself to finish a dish like this any day, especially when you use ice cream instead of whipped cream.

  8. Lisa, thank you for your sweet comments on my blog. You always say such nice things, someday I'm going to hug you in person! ;)

That is a great purse. I have a thing for plastic handles like that. I hope you get a ton of use from it. The fabric of that scarf is just gorgeous and classic. Let's see you wear it!
