Workday Outfit: This Skirt Again

I've worn this skirt a few times over the summer, but styled a little differently each time.  I chose a soft, robin's egg blue t-shirt to match the lighter color in the skirt and added a shimmery scarf and nude sandals.
And notice I have "tucked in" the top completely, but am able to hide a tiny bit behind the dangling scarf. :)
Looking at the photos now...I'm thinking maybe I could add a belt with this skirt to develop another look for it.  I'll have to see if I might have a belt that would be appropriate and switch up some of the other elements as well.  I had soooo many belts that I never wore and re-donated them back to the thrift store.  Now I wish I'd saved them so I'd have more options.
I also now wish I had hiked the scarf up closer to the neckline of my top and just eliminated the necklace.  Hindsight....

Weekday Casual Outfit: Belted Dress w/ Cardi

Okay, so this is an unusual moment for me.  I'm wearing a belt around my actual waistline.  I'm very much out of my comfort zone, but since I had the cardigan covering my hip area...that helped a little and I survived. haha
I'm thinking that maybe a skinny belt works better at my waist (like here) and a wider belt looks more appropriate worn a little lower.  I'll have to experiment some more.
Another uncomfortable aspect is showing this much leg.  I prefer a longer length, but really liked the colors and pattern of this dress so I'm trying to wear it.

I love how the colors in the scarf tie in with the rest of pieces in this outfit and the accessories.  This was another of my "feel good" looks for myself.  I'm happy with the length of the pants (another pair that I've slimmed down to fit after some weight loss) and my new sandals are super comfy.  I thrifted these a couple of days ago along with 2 other pair that are identical.  These are what I call a butterscotch color.  I also got a pair in white and one in a nude tone.  They were each $5.99 and looked like new so I couldn't pass them up.  I knew these would be a good go to shoe for work, or any occasion, and that I could walk in them comfortably all day.  I really wish I would have been lucky enough to find them in black as well.
The drape and partial tuck of the scarf into the belt was accidental, but I ended up quite pleased with how it turned out.  Since it has been recommended by some other bloggers that I tuck in my shirts (or maybe belt them)...or I guess just not leave them hanging out loose, haha...I was playing around with adding a belt.  I really thought it accentuated the width of my hips too much, but then was also working with how to wear the scarf and ended up with this look.  I liked it.  I felt much more comfortable in wearing the belt by adding a bit of length in the front and partial covering with the scarf.  I could have tucked it all the way into the belt, but I liked this look best for today.

Workday Outfit: Paisley Pants

Hello!  I'm always so happy when weekends roll around.  I hope you enjoy yours. :)
I wore this to work yesterday (Friday).  I was glad the pants turned out okay when I slimmed down the legs.  I did the same to my flowered pants with success as well.
I have had this blazer for a long time, but it had been packed away in a box because it was too small for me.  I'm glad I'm able to wear it now.  I took it to the dry cleaners about a year ago and so it had been waiting for me (covered in plastic) in my closet until I could wear it again.  I now have 3 black blazers, but they are all a little different.  This one is a little bit lighter weight, so it's perfect for this time of year.

Pants $4 Versailles New York
Black Top $5 Talbots (Value Village)
