I went totally gray and sand (or tan) for this outfit. I layered two scarves again. The underneath fringed scarf is a bluish gray. The print scarf has both the blue gray and sand colors. The necklace is a blue-gray-silver as well. Even the faux snakeskin print flats are gray and tan.
I really like the look of scarves hanging like loose, but it's not an effortless look to maintain. All day long I was straightening and adjusting because my scarves would go flapping as I scurried around our office and up and down the long hallway to the restroom. It is much easier just to loop them around the neck a time or two. They stay in place much better. But on occasion I commit to fiddling and arranging so that I can wear them like this. This style also allows for adding a necklace.

It has been quite a long while since I've worn a button down blouse. Until a few years ago I never even wore them at all. Then I discovered I liked using them as a layering piece or on their own...generally untucked. As I hadn't pulled one (of my many) out of my closet in a while I was wondering if I was over them. Another blog photo spurred me to layer one again with a cardigan and so I came up with this outfit. It felt nice to wear the button down again, I liked the look, and have realized I'm definitely not over them at all.
This particular blouse is a nice shade of yellow...which I don't wear a whole lot of. I can't believe it only cost 99 cents! I love this newish scarf and thought it worked well to complete the look. In a bit warmer weather I could wear the same outfit, but with a necklace to replace the scarf and a different pair of shoes to replace the ankle boots.
Well, my work schedule/work load seems to be increasing quite a lot this new year so I've had less time for blogging and have not been able to visit and comment on many of your blogs. I will try to do more catching up on the weekends as time allows.
My outfit this day was a monochromatic one. I liked the sparkly gold threads in the cardigan and I chose to wear my gold flat loafers too. I like them and they're comfortable, but just don't get much wear.

I wore dangly earrings (out of sight just behind my hair) and wanted to leave my neckline unadorned so as not to detract from the detail of the toggle closures on the cardigan.
I love this cardigan and will be wearing it over my blue jeans and also over a new dress I thrifted. I hope to wear the dress in the next couple of weeks or so. I think I'm going to wear it the first time with my fur vest, but I'm not quite sure yet.

This is just one of those outfits that makes me feel good even though it may not look like anything particularly special. I adore this necklace, like the color combination in the outfit, and the whole thing was very comfortable. I did end up changing shoes before I left because I could tell these would not get me through a day of work. Instead I opted for a soft leather nude loafer. Ahhhh, much better (but I didn't get a photograph). This is an outfit favorite. Someday...... I hope to have my closet paired down to only my very, very favorites...what I feel happiest in and most comfortable wearing.
I wore earrings (but you can't see them here) in little dangly heart shapes that had the same colors as these two bracelets...melon and seafoam.
I thrifted these pretty sequined shoes in Oct. 2014, but this is the first time I've worn them. Crazy about them! Can't wait to wear them with my new skinny dark denim jeans too. About 5 more pounds off in order to get those jeans buttoned without killing myself. ha I remember back in high school (1978 ish) laying on the bed and nearly breaking my fingers trying to get jeans zipped up that were so tight it's a wonder I could breath. I think a friend of mine said she would use pliers to pull her zipper up. lol

Well, it's back on the diet wagon for me after a whopping 15 pound! weight gain over the last couple of months or so. Oh, yes....I'm not supposed to think of it as a diet. It's a healthy forever lifestyle change. Another of my New Year's resolutions is to NOT let this happen again this year. I've yo yo'd with my weight all my life. At least I continue to try. But, seriously....I've got to get a grip and get this weight off. Even where I was, 15 lbs ago, I was overweight, but I could live with being that size and was sooooo much happier. I'll get there again. It just really takes daily effort to make a plan (easy part) and stick with it (hard part-ha).
I thrifted these pants maybe 3 weeks ago and have been wearing them like crazy. I was calling them stretch pants because they have no waist closure, just pull on...and they are a nice stretchy fabric that just seems to fit so well. I had been seeing a word floating around "ponte" so today I googled it. Lo and behold that's what these pants are! I actually also have another pair from Black House White Market that I thrifted a couple of years or so ago, but have not been able to wear for a while because they're in a smaller size. They do have a zipper and snap closure. Ponte is a combination of rayon, polyester, and spandex. Do you own ponte fabric clothing and do you like it? I'm loving it.
These don't really fit me the way I like best, but they do give me another pant silhouette. I prefer them to be more fitted through the leg and ankle and will keep my eye out for ones of that style for the future.
