Cognac Riding Boots

I finally thrifted a pair of riding boots.  They're the first pair I've ever owned.  I never have been much of a (tall) boot wearer, but I've always wanted to try this style out for fun without spending a fortune.  These were only $10 so I was fine with that.

This scarf is a new purchase also and I think it will be one of my favorites.  It has some green and blue in it, but is a good neutral piece.

I love scarves and thrifted 4 more the day I photographed this outfit...which was yesterday (Tuesday).  I had a get together with my daughter, Shelley, for lunch and thrift shopping.  John (hubby) and I will be going out to lunch New Year's Eve and I plan on wearing my favorite of the bunch...a red one...and you'll get to see it on Thursday or Friday.

I liked this mix of colors together.  It was also nice to see my long lost ponytail for a change.

With my extreme weight gain over the last couple of months it is necessary to wear the long cardigans to hide the hip/thigh area.  Even though I like this style at any weight...I am hoping to find it acceptable to be a bit more accentuating of my derriere by spring. haha

Christmas Eve Seaside Brunch

We enjoyed a HUGE brunch as a treat from my daughter and son-in-law.  We had a beautiful view of the water and city from our table and great company.

Over the last few days I have dressed in a very similar style, but have changed elements such as shoes, jewelry, sweater, or topper to give a slightly different look.
All my outfits over the holiday have given me one important detail....comfort.  The stretch waist of these new black pants was a big help in that department.  :)  In fact, I am loving these pants so much I may look for this style even after I've lost my extra gained pounds.  They feel like dressy yoga pants or something.  (Not that I've ever worn yoga pants. ha)

Happy Christmas Eve!

Well, I broke down and bought some new pants.  I was trying to wait because I just need to lose some weight and I could fit into ones I already have.  But with the way my holiday eating is going I know myself too well and that's just not going to happen overnight.  So I bought 4 pair of pants to get me by.  I got this black pair, gray slacks, dark denim, and khaki's.  I actually feel so relieved to have more options.  I've already worn these black pants twice this week and will be wearing them again tomorrow on Christmas Eve.  Today's post is from a work day on 22nd.
