Hi, there!  How's your week going?

This dress is new and I can definitely see me wearing it with my flip flops or sandals this summer. Are you already anxiously thinking about spring/summer wear?  I'm just beginning to.  I purchased a few tops recently that I'm excited to wear when it warms up...but that'll be a few months yet.

I don't take pics outdoors like many bloggers, but I'll still throw on my sunglasses as I'm heading out the door.

Boy, my hair sure feels good after I take a scissors to it....and I realize I should be doing this more regularly.  My hair gets very straggly quickly from all the blow drying and flat ironing. (Plus it's naturally frizzy anyway.)  So, isn't it great when you feel like you're having a "good hair day"?!  Mine are very few and far between so it's a wonderful thing. haha  Also... I liked my outfit today.  Bonus!
I got a new leopard scarf.  I had not owned one and now I have two!  About a week previous to buying this one I had also found one with more golden tones.  I like them both very much.
Oh! And for Christmas my boss got me a really great leopard coat scarf I'll have to show sometime too.

Wardrobe Newbies: Tribal Print Cardigan + Gray Ankle Pants

I really loved this cardigan and the whole outfit really.  I like the print, colors, drape and weight of the cardigan, plus the pants were very comfortable and I didn't have any slacks in this shade of gray.

 I started out thinking I'd wear the gray flats, but switched to the studded, suede, black ones below.

 The necklace and earrings are tribal inspired in keeping with the cardigan style.

New Plaid Scarf With Gravity

A brightly colored fringed plaid scarf with an equally bright green tee and cardigan makes me feel pretty bright too.  I wore this to see Gravity in 3D the other day.  We usually just get all our movies free from the library, but we were gifted a movie theater gift certificate for Christmas so it was a nice treat.  Of course, hot dogs and popcorn were consumed while watching our space drama.

Through Thick and Thin (well, not sooo thin)

This skirt has been wearable for me through 30 lbs of fluctuating weight.  It's elastic waistband has made it possible to wear it in larger and in smaller days.  I can wear it through all seasons.  I've had it at least 7 years and will probably hang on to this one because, even though I don't wear it often, I do like it.

Style and Safety

 I've removed the large shoulder pads from this blazer and decided to wear it with jeans.  I also found some large sunglasses that will actually fit comfortably over my prescription glasses (which I wear every day).  I have never been one to wear sunglasses, but I'm going to start trying to do that for the protection and health of my eyes.

Bright Green Feels Juuuuust Right

These colors made me feel good and seemed to lift my mood while wearing them.  I think the green reminds me of spring/summer and I already can't wait till it gets here...but, at the same time, I like the rich cognac colors as well.

 I tried to find a necklace and couldn't seem to come up with one that struck my fancy...and then I saw this scarf, loved it, and knew it would feel perfect for me with this outfit.
So this turned out to be an "outfit favorite" and will be one I'd like to wear on repeat...you know...for when that day comes that I severely narrow down the contents of my closets.  :)

Simple DIY Pendant for Chain Necklace

I ended up adding an earring to this necklace to jazz it up a bit.  It's from a pair of earrings I rarely wear because they feel too heavy for my ears.  It has a post with back slide on thing that I just stuck right through the chain and put the back on to hold it in place.  I'll be looking for other opportunities to embellish necklaces in the future because I liked how this turned out. (I didn't realize I was going to do this till last minute so I only got the one close up shot.)

I'm wearing a patterned scarf with the leopard print vest.  My color scheme is black, caramel, cream, and brown.  I wore this to go out to lunch with my daughter.  We had planned on getting healthy stuff at Whole Foods, but we were so hungry we ended up going to Red Robin and getting burgers and fries.  (Hers was a boca burger though.)  I've lost 3 of my 7 holiday acquired pounds so at least I'm heading in the right direction.

I really, really love this waterfall cardigan below found here at Bloomindale's, although I'll never pay that much and buy it.  I love this style of cardigan anyway, but I'm crazy about it with this pattern. 
I recently purchased my first buffalo plaid print garment.  I hadn't even known that's what it's called.  I'll just be happy with my shorter, 3 button cardigan for now.  Next time I'll wear it with blue jeans, but I had work this day.

It's really soft and I like the 3/4 length sleeves.  I'll be able to wear it with a short sleeved tee or tank also.  Maybe I could even roll the sleeves up a bit more in the spring and still wear it as an additional layer.   I'll have to try that out to see if it looks okay.

Red Blazer With Jeans + Heirloom Onyx Ring

I liked the blazer paired with these jeans pretty good.  It has shoulder pads that need removed, but I just haven't gotten around to doing that yet.  Will try to take care of that before the next wearing of it though.
This is a first time wear for the cowl necked sweater.  This is a great basis black sweater.  It's very soft and I like the fit.

 This is not a great picture of my ring, but I wanted to share it.  My mother had this ever since I can remember, but I haven't seen it in decades.  I remember it from when I was younger and have always liked it.  It is black onyx with a tiny little diamond in it.  My mom gave it to me this past Christmas.  It's actually an heirloom and belonged to my great grandmother.  I didn't even know that.  It means a lot to me to have it.  It reminds me of my lovely mother who I now live thousands of miles away from.
