Weekend Outfit: Summery Colors

I love button down tops worn loosely over pants.  For me this is just an easy and comfortable look.  This salmony melon blouse was worn over my new yellow jeans (smaller size - Yay!) to do our usual Saturday errands.

I love the looks of these shoes, but after an hour they hurt my feet and I am determined to let them go into the donation pile.  I'm trying to become more fashion practical by keeping and wearing only things I'm comfortable in.

  1. You look great, Lisa! Love those slim jeans. I agree about shoes that hurt, they can't stay in my closet. Thanks for linking up!

  2. Great colors, Lisa! You look wonderful. Love that you got a great deal on the two pieces, too. I've been known to hang on to shoes even though they're painful but I'm getting better about buying for comfort.

  4. Both colors matching perfectly and you look gorgeous in them. The shoes are lovely as well. What a pity that they hurt your feet. I also try to buy only comfortable shoes. But when do you recognise whether a shoe is fitting well or not? Only after hours wearing then, definitely not in the shop.

    1. You're absolutely right. I'm glad I've only thrifted them for a few dollars, but still it's a pity. Goodbye cute shoes. :(

    2. One thing you might try is looking up a shoe repair shop and getting a quote on how much it would be to resole them. It looks like the part under the ball of your feet is very thin, so there's no absorption of shock when you walk, esp. on concrete.

At the shop I go to, they put a vibram sole underneath for between $6-20. You can probably get a quote over the phone and decide if it's worth it!

    3. Thank you for the advice, Aya. Strangely enough it is actually the top part that digs into my foot...where the straps are. My foot is at an angle that cause the pressure on the top of the foot. Odd, I know. ha
I have 2 other pair similar to this one and they do the same thing, but I'm not sure if it's as bad. I don't wear them often. Next time I do, if they feel the same, they will be out the door as well.

  5. Great color combo. Yes, there is no use for uncomfortable shoes...You could pick up the trim color of the purse and wear shoes that matched that..

    1. Good idea, Tracey. I actually almost did wear a pair of brown sandals. I will have to do that next time.

  6. Lovely look, Lisa! I too like wearing such kind of longish shirts over pants. Love the combination of colours in this outfit. The sandals are very nice and it is pity that they hurt and you will have to get rid of them.

  7. Lisa, this post is an excellent lesson on how it's possible to dress in absolute comfort and still look fantastic. The colours are beautiful on you. Too bad about the sandals but there are even better ones just waiting for you.

  11. Hooray for smaller jeans! Beautiful color too, especially with that top. I find it hard to part with beautiful shoes, even when they hurt my feet, but it seems like most uncomfortable shoes don't get any better with time.

    1. Hi, Terri. I sometimes question myself about whether I want to continue blogging as I wonder if it may fuel the fire for my compulsion to thrift. I told my husband this and said but if I didn't I'd be running around 75% of the time in this...(I had on my exercise sweats, t-shirt, and flip flops.) haha So....do I want the incentive to dress better... or shop less? Hmmmm.... Still debating that issue with myself. lol

    1. Thank you, Donna. I guess the older I get the less tolerance I have for enduring pain for the sake of style. I can have enough style for me in more comfy shoes. :)

  16. Tall, skinny, coral ... what a beauty you are today!
Wish your cute shoes worked better for you. How about a full cork sole... with a little cut out for the "thong". Might help!

    1. Hi, Jan. It seems funny everybody commiserating about my feet. haha But I brought it up. Seems like I do that at LEAST once a month. lol I'm weeding the bad ones out slowly but surely though.
