Pink? Check.

I've worn this skirt here, but today it's styled with my new pink checked blouse, minty necklace, pink sandals and different accessories.  I don't really think I wear belts well, but I give them a try sometimes.  I used to would never ever wear a belt, but it seems to be a popular fashion accessory.
As I look back over my blog post photos I'm realizing I do have favorite looks.  I would like to stick more with what works well on me when making new purchases, but I seem to be a hodge podge random shopper.  I'm not sure how to stick with, and repeat in varied ways, particular outfits I've liked on myself in the past.  That is going to be a challenge, a new learning experience, and something I'd like to work on a little more.
I think I'll gather up my favorite outfit photos in a file and study them to try to get a handle on styles and colors I feel are most flattering.  I have too many clothes and outfits that are just meh, but I end up wearing them anyway.  And, of course, no one wants to intentionally look meh.  We want to look our best and fabulous all the time! :)  But it's fun to experiment and practice...even if we don't get it 100% right every single day.

I'm linking up with Visible Monday.  Thank you, Patti, for hosting.

  1. Hi Lisa! Super cute outfit. Love that skirt and the bubble necklace is perfectly showcased here.
I think we all have "meh" outfits and I do allow that for myself when I'm just hanging out at home. But the more I'm doing this blogging thing the more sensitive I am to the "meh" and want to always spice things up just for my own entertainment. I have a sort of "code" for myself which is, if I put something on a couple of times and think "yuck" then I get rid of it. It's usually because of two things, wrong color or wrong fit/style. I feel less chaos when I get rid of the things that aren't me. It's such a process though and I don't think it's ever over. It's part of the fun I think. ;)

    1. Those are excellent tips, Joni! Wrong fit or wrong color...it should go. I tend to hang onto things thinking what if I come up with a new idea of how to wear it in the future I will wish I hadn't given it up because it was "just the piece I needed". But if it's not a good color or fit on me now...well, that's certainly not going to change later either. Unlessssss....(another reason I hang onto things)...I were to lose weight. That's been an excuse for quite some years now. haha

  2. Love the belt with the skirt, and love the mint with the pink checks. What if you paired this shirt and necklace with a solid mint or solid blue skirt? Experimenting is fun and that's how we learn and develop our style.

    1. I'd planned on wearing the top with my white capris somewhere down the line. I like your idea of pairing it with mint or blue. I don't have either of those in a solid colored bottom...just navy...so I'll have to keep that in mind when thrifting. Thanks so much for your input. I really appreciate it, Fonda.
Have a great holiday week! :)

  3. I like the colors in this look. I'm discovering that I have a similar problem with all of my thrifting. Sometimes I purchase an item and then don't wear it for several months...and for the life of me, I can't remember what creative idea I had when I bought it.

    1. I too am sometimes guilty of a delayed wearing of purchases.
Funny about not remembering your creative ideas. :)

  4. That skirt is wonderful! I love your pattern mixing here too. It's funny and also a little frightening how some of my outfits that used to be considered edgy are now just meh. I love being a part of everyone's style adventure. Mistakes can lead to the biggest discoveries. Great post!

  6. You have the right attitude -- experimenting is the way to discovering what works best. And getting tips from other bloggers' outfits is constructive.

When I started dressing up, I didn't know how to build outfits. Feedback like "add a belt/cardi/tights" taught me how to improve my looks. If we're open to suggestions, they'll flow toward us.

  7. Wonderful post, Lisa - I agree that we have to work our way through the "meh" to get to the "ahhh", and it takes a long time. You look gorgeous in this outfit, and if I may say, I think soft colors and shapes are part of your signature style.
Thanks so much for linking up!

    1. I know a lot of people have them and so it's not super unique...and it's a knockoff of the more expensive J. Crew one....but I'm really happy to have it. I just like it. I have a coral one too, which I've yet to wear.

  13. OK, so it is women like you (colorful and brave) that make women like me (conservative and boring) want to go shopping and change things up a bit. This is a great play of color and patterns. The hues look good on you too.
