I bought this skirt in the spring and have worn it 2-3 times, but have come to realize that as much as I like this style (well really more like pencil skirts) on other people and wish I could wear the just above the knee length...I just don't feel comfortable...at least not without tights. So this skirt, and probably a tan one I bought also, will be re-donated. Blogging sure helps you see things about how clothing really looks on you that you might not see just gazing in a mirror. Sometimes I listen to the photo and sometimes I'm resistant. Took me about 3 tries before I was ready to say goodbye to this one, but at least I'm doing it. I'm sure there are many other pieces in my wardrobe that could go due to the fact that they are unsuitable for me, but I just haven't come to that breaking up point with them yet. I'm making progress though...little by little.

Thank you, Lisa, for the kind words today. I needed them.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree more with your statement that "Blogging sure helps you see things about how clothing really looks...", as my recent experience shows. I had high hopes for my shorts-ensemble but it crashed and burned like a doomed aircraft.
Your legs look fantastic Lisa!! I don't think you should get rid of the skirt, but rather have this one brought in and tapered more toward the knee. You can pay someone if you don't sew for about 20.00 which I know is more than you paid for the skirt but you look awesome in it! I can see it looking fantastic brought in to about where the folds are on both sides if you know what I mean. Or, just look for that shape the next time you shop. Don't be bashful about your gorgeous legs!!!!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Joni that you have great legs and can wear this length skirt. But I've learned so much from my own outfit pics that I'm actually donating some never worn thrifted items, because they don't flatter me at all. It's all part of the learning process.
ReplyDeleteyour make up looks stunning and I like the way you have worn the skirt and how you have accesorised it

I like these sandals with this skirt. Is this the skirt that you're uncomfortable in? It looks fine to my eye, but it doesn't look like a pencil skirt either.
ReplyDeleteI love you with skirts. You have killer legs that you should flaunt, yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
ReplyDeleteMore skirts and dsresses, please.

I don't think the length is wrong on this skirt at all. And I love the color of it! But, you have to wear what feels right to you too, so I can understand if you're ready to let it go.
ReplyDeleteOverall I'm totally loving the color combo, it's so bright and cheery, it makes me smile!
I agree with the other comments that your legs are good and also with Joni about tapering the skirt. It's a great color and would probably be very versatile. Women are so used to covering their legs and of course we are our own worst critics
ReplyDeleteYes, I am on board too - you have fabulous legs! I hope you can start to see them as we do!! I'm with Joni, if the flare is too much, get it tapered - or better yet, you can go shopping again!
