White Denim Rematch

The white jeans are making another showing already because I have so many things planned to style with them. 

We're heading downtown today for lunch and to view the Gauguin Polynesia exhibit at the art museum so I thought this would be perfect with a pair of comfy shoes for walking.  It will be a first wearing for the sweater, shoes, handbag, scarf and flower pin.

I'll figure out how to get better quality photos.  But maybe not.  So my sincere apologies on the results.  I'm trying, but it never seems to work out.  I used a couple of different settings today, but, as always, the only ones that turn out clear and true are the close ups.  Here are a couple of my not so perfect attempts.  The second photo more closely matches the colors in my dress/sweater/tights.
Today I'm wearing a sweater dress I thrifted.  I would have normally been inclined to pair it with a black sweater and black boots, but I tried really hard to break out of my comfort zone and used a gray sweater with brown belt, boots and purse.  Not sure if it works, but I kind of liked it.  Also added a gray scarf and a purplish colored scarf wrapped together.

Today's Outfit - Infinity Scarf: An Easy Refashion Project

This was a much longer skirt that no longer fit me, so I cut and hemmed to make it shorter and trimmed some off the width and used the scrap from the bottom to make a matching infinity scarf.  I've got a few more skirts lined up to do similar projects with, but just haven't gotten around to it yet.  I had planned on re-donating them, but thought I'd practice on them since they're were so inexpensive and I'm a novice seamstress.  If I mess them up and they become unwearable it's no big loss.  But maybe some (like this one) will turn out okay enough to get a little more wear out of.  I may also make some flower pins/clips out of some of the scraps as well.  Just kinda fun to play around with.

I got new green tights and I'm trying them out with this skirt today.  I wore this outfit here, but this time I'm wearing different shoes and sweater and have added the tights .

From Work to Ballet

This is what I wore to work yesterday and then below that is what I wore to the see Don Quixote at the ballet that evening.  I was rushed to get ready once I got home from work and did not have time to do my hair properly and was unhappy with it so I removed that from the photo.   The black sweater is a little large, but I bought it because I liked the detachable faux fur collar that I'm hoping to wear on other things someday.  I know I have a coat that it works well on.  The red skirt was in honor of the upcoming Valentine's Day.  I believe this may be hand made.
