My First Real Trench Coat

A trench coat was on my wish list and I just happened upon this one.  It was just what I was looking for.  It's got a nice zip out liner which I've removed for now, but will add in soon when it's cooler.  I like the black collar and button detail at the sleeves.  I also liked the upper over flap things.  (Not sure what that style is called.)

My OOTD was a simple neutral one of tan ankle pants and black top with cardigan.  I added a pop of red with the necklace.  The sandals have a red stripe running through them also.

I also thrifted a new pair of earrings which I know will be favorites of mine.  They are an antique gold color with an engraved swirl and leaf pattern.

  3. A classic trench with a twist. Good job! Love the black collar and the black buttons on the cuff. This is what makes it special.

    1. Our weather has been unbelievably nice for this time of year, but rain is coming later this week I think. One thing about a trench though is that it has no hood. Still need an umbrella. But they look nice. :)

  7. Probably the most lovely trench coat ever ... I love one that drapes, and you found an extremely sophisticated example of how well that can work! Excellent, and you look beautiful in it.
(The flaps are an modified version of a storm patch or gun flap that was found on the original coats worn in the military (WWl maybe?). To keep your holstered side-arm dry and handy on the outside of your coat.)
