OOTD: Olive, Navy, Cognac - A New Wardrobe of Neutrals

Neutrals play heavily into my new fall/winter wardrobe scheme.  Neutrals such as olive, navy, black, gray, cognac, camel, taupe, tan, etc.
This cardigan is the first of my new oversized ones to make a repeat appearance as a favorite.  Others to come in the following weeks.  I plan on wearing them quite a lot over the next several months...changing out the accessories of jewelry and scarves to vary the look a bit.  I am trying to learn to fill my wardrobe with more basic neutral pieces, that can be mixed and matched, and then adding accessories to extend the outfit possibilities.
I have recently donated bags and bags of clothing I've deemed are no longer the look and style I would like for myself...but there is still much work to be done in order to bring my closet(s) to the place I want it to be.  Of course, my problem is that I need to stop bringing new things home...which I've done a lot of lately.  However, I do feel very satisfied with my purchases and how they are bringing together my style vision...so I don't feel there is much more I need to add.  I would like a pair or two of cute booties though.  :)

Jewelry that I like is not often found on my thrifting trips, but I was very pleased to find these two pieces below (plus one other necklace) this past week.  They are in colors that will work perfectly with my new season of outfits.

This whole outfit was only about $28 total for cardigan, top, pants, necklace, bracelet, purse, and shoes.

Navy Pants $5.99 Dockers
Navy/Olive Striped Tee $4.85 Old Navy
Olive Cardigan $1.29 Chico's
Necklace .49 cents
Bracelet $2.58
Purse $5.99 Liz Claiborne
Wedge Sandals $6.80 Ann Taylor

  3. I love the oversized sweaters! The great thing about style is that it is ever evolving and changing as we ourselves are. Clearing out to make room for what works is a tough process...As a thrifter it's harder to not fill it back up again. I cautiously thrift for items on my new wish list these days, which has helped tremendously.. Booties would be a great addition for the season and I wish you luck in finding the perfect ones!
