Hi Lo Cobalt Dress

I am not a fan of the high low look for myself, but I ended up bringing this dress home anyway.  I wish it was the longer length in the front too.  It was a little big and I kept pulling up the top part all day.  I had planned on belting it with a yellow skinny belt, but that caused more problems pulling down the top so I left that off.  I thought of sewing the top shoulder straps to make the top part fit better, but then that would shorten the front and I definetely don't want that.
I ended up wearing the blazer buttoned up to make things look a little more fitted.  I liked the colors and pattern of this dress, but after wearing it I'm not sure if I'll keep it.  I just don't seem to be much of a dress person.  Maybe skirts if they're more ankle length and flowy.
I'm linking up with Patti for Visible Monday at Not Dead Yet Style.  Come on over and meet some wonderful ladies and check out their lovely style.

  5. I love the colour of the dress, Lisa. The pattern combined with the solid blue at the top is really pretty; at first, I thought it was a cami you had worn under the dress. I know what you mean about having to tug at your clothes to make then sit correctly, pulling up or down...so annoying....and then you end up not wearing them because of that.
Thanks for stopping by High Heels in the Wilderness!

  6. I was curious about this dress since reading your comment. I generally never say anything negative about other people's clothes but the shape of this dress, combined with the hi-lo hem, doesn't work. It looks odd. The color and print are nice, but the shape is unflattering. I hope you don't mind such feedback: I'm just trying to be honest. Hugs!

    1. Thank you, Ally. I do really do appreciate your opinion.
I got together 6 bags of donations yesterday and this dress is part of it. I'm sure I have many other unflattering pieces and maybe eventually I'll work them out of my wardrobe. Sometimes you like something though...even though no one else does... and you keep wearing it....but this dress is not one of those items and it feels good to get confirmation that I'm making the correct decision. Have a great Monday! :)

  9. Well, yeah!!!! Love it. You sure are coming up with some personal style evolution these days! Yellow and blue .... perfect together in this extremely pretty dress. Out for dinner, maybe? I love a dress on you, and encourage you to adjust the straps just enough to stay put without hiking the hem. Another solution ... pin to your bra straps, maybe? I have to take up the shoulder on a sleeveless dress this week. It's a pain I know, but it can take a good dress to a great dress with just a little effort. This is a beauty on you, and great with the jacket! Love the hair, too. You're so clever!

  10. The colour is lovely on you but I know what you mean about the high low hem, always tricky to wear.
The yellow is great with the blue, really like the necklace.
