Navy Skinnies Tucked in Booties

Other than the slight issue of occasionally having to hoist up the rear of these britches...I love them.  I have trouble finding pants that fit my legs right.  Usually all pants that fit in the waist/butt are too baggy in the leg and too long and many times I end up altering them to slim them down a bit.  I can't imagine why the legs are baggy because, let me tell you, I have some substantial thighs. haha  I remember going to my old general practioner (who knew my grandma who had been a nurse) and him telling me I had thighs like my grandma!  I was 17.  Not what I wanted to hear...and not something I'll ever forget.
Soooo, back to the pants.  Well, I like these because they are fitted without making my legs look like two bulging sausages stuffed in them. haha
I also love this lightweight cardigan.  This type of cardigan looks much better on me (I think) that the standard style...which I wore in a wine color the other day, griped about, and have since gotten rid of.  This thin style and longer length I just find to be more flattering to my body shape and age.

The blue gray bracelet is new.  Can't see it very well, here, but it is a muted tone and color very similar to the cardigan.
I liked the way my hair turned out today.  There was no special rhyme or reason to it, so it will be mere chance to duplicate it again...but I'm going to try.  (My naturally curly/frizzy hair has always been a point of frustration.)
Some orange accents and gold hoops accessorize this look.
I get a lot of wear out of these dark brown booties.
(Not sure why the pants below the knees photographed a darker color.  They're not two toned. ha)
I'll be linking up with Patti at Not Dead Yet Style for Visible Monday.

  1. I love the pop of colour in your necklace, it looks great with the rest of your outfit. By the way, I would love your thighs. They are very slim. :-)

    1. Thank you, Patti. I've watched youtube vids of girls putting in hair clip add in pieces, but golly they can be pricey. It would be fun to try though.

  8. I am in your boat, Lisa.. boat of thunder thighs! I have the same problem all the time and being a mere 5'3" does not help! But you look stunning here.. try legging with tall boots, I think you could pull that off great :)

    1. Mrs. C, haha....you're a tiny little thing. Calves are another problem for me...can't find boots that fit around them, unless I try the riding boot style. Maybe someday.....

  9. I love this look on you. Very slimming, but I've not seen an outfit that made you look otherwise. And I can't believe the dr made the thigh comment!

  15. I smiled when I saw the title today. I wore navy skinnies tucked into short boots today. Skinnies are definitely tricky. My biggest problem is keeping them up. If they have enough stretch to be comfortable, they always seem to slide down. Of course, I haven't got much to keep them up, but that's a whole other problem. :-) Your sweater really is pretty and I think the whole look is great on you. XXOO

  16. You look amazing ... you and your thighs together. Only seeing completely proportional thighs here, girl. Beautiful outfit .. very you. Love the jacket/cardi, and you know how I feel about cardigans. Nice choice. Pants are beyond flattering, all the way to excellent.
And don't you love those great hair days? Nothing like it to make my whole day a lot better.
What an odd thing for your doctor to say about your thighs, much less your grandmothers.
    Anyway, it's not so anymore!

    1. Me, my thighs, and my hair thank you, Jan. :D
At the time of doctor's comment I weighed about 122 and the message I got was no matter how thin you get your thighs are still going to look large. That's such a horrible message to give a 17 year old girl.
