Weekday Casual Outfit: Belted Dress w/ Cardi

Okay, so this is an unusual moment for me.  I'm wearing a belt around my actual waistline.  I'm very much out of my comfort zone, but since I had the cardigan covering my hip area...that helped a little and I survived. haha
I'm thinking that maybe a skinny belt works better at my waist (like here) and a wider belt looks more appropriate worn a little lower.  I'll have to experiment some more.
Another uncomfortable aspect is showing this much leg.  I prefer a longer length, but really liked the colors and pattern of this dress so I'm trying to wear it.

  2. Hi Lisa. Glad you survived ;-) No seriously. There is nothing to worry about. You look perfect! The length is perfect. You have nice legs. No need to hide them. And the belt looks great too. Oh yes please play around with belts. I would love to see a wider one sitting on your hips very casually. Maybe with a maxi skirt or dress. Hope you know what I mean.

    Have a lovely day.

    1. Hi, Lenya. I do know what you mean. I'm going to have to reinvest in a few more belts I think...if something happens to catch my eye.

    1. Thank you, Renae. I wore similar salmon colors today and hubby did compliment me specifically on that detail. I guess it's a winner with him too. :)

  5. I love this length skirt on you and the belt works well. Congrats on going outside your comfort zone... for me that is tucking in a shirt... so hard to adjust to weight loss and see the positive changes. you look wonderful!!!

    1. Thank you, Tracey. Yes, tucking in a shirt is unbelievably hard for me too. I don't think it's generally the right look for me, but I'm willing to try and experiment with it.

  6. You should wear more often this length Lisa! I find it suits your beautiful legs very well. And I love the thin belt around your waist, it's so feminine!

  7. I don't know why you feel uncomfortable about this length, Lisa. You have beautiful legs and it is a shame to hide them all the time. And the belt is just the right thing here as it shows your waist and thanks to it the figure doesn't look shapeless in the cardigan. Great choice of colours, too

  8. Hi Lisa! I really like this skirt length on you. It looks fabulous! And, I agree with you that a thin belt looks good at the waist. I think I'm in love with those shoes!

  9. Just wanted to add my opinion. I think the shorter skirt looks amazing on you. I think you should wear them more often. You have very nice, shapely legs that you should show off. It is difficult to step out of your comfort, but it can be so worth it in the end.
