Wildly Attracted...With Drawbacks

I seem to have a lot of clothing that I really love, but that have aspects that are slightly irritating... but that I'm willing to put up with.  Does this happen to you?
This new top, for instance, is extremely slinky and feels marvelous to wear, however, it's just a tad big and the neckline keeps sliding down lower causing me to have to continually adjust it up to a more comfortable level. Maybe it's also because I'm not used to wearing this level of chest baring top.  I think I'm usually more covered up.  But I did wear this to work and so didn't want to reveal too much...so I kept hiking it up.
The shoes are another story.  I liked these so much when I bought them...and still do...but, after wearing them all day, have realized that these are another pair I will only be able to wear for 1 to 2 hours and with minimal walking.  Not good for all day wear.  They have a taller heel that I'm generally not used to (although the heel height of these were not a problem in walking), but a couple of the straps dig in after a while.
I'll call these my "date shoes".  They would be good for a lunch or dinner date out.
I was wanting to become a bit more "practical" in my thrifting purchases and only get things that are comfortable and that I would get lots of wear out of...but shoes are hard to tell about until you've worn them for several hours.  I'll keep these...for now... cuz they're kinda sexy...and the taller heel makes my legs look just a bit longer.

The blazer is brown, but looks much darker than it really is in this photo.  It's new also.  I have another brown one, but this one is a little bit longer style (which I like on me) and a smaller size so it fits a little better.
I liked how the caramel color in the top tied in with the little dot of the same color on the earrings and in the color of purse and shoes.  I will also be wearing this top with brown slacks and black slacks in the future.

  2. I have a shirt that does that, but I love it so it stays...shoes are what I look at first when thrifting and I wear the until I go to check out any discomfort and I put them back...

    1. Hi, Tracey. I've been wearing the shoes in the store like that too...but not for that long. I need to start doing that and maybe it would help better gauge the comfort.

  5. I love that top and your hair looks so pretty straighter.

  6. The top is lovely and does not look too revealing from my distant point of view. I am really particular about shoes. My feet tend to swell throughout the day and I simply can't wear heels like you have on, though they look great!

    1. I'm realizing I do have some other lower neckline tops I just hadn't thought about. They've just been hiding away for so long waiting for warmer days that I'd forgotten I ever once showed that area of my body. ha

  7. I know what you mean. I have several garments made for a female body which I wear with some discomfort but I so want to wear them (mostly for psychological reasons) that I endure it. Interesting to hear of your feelings about exposing/concealing this part of your body.

    1. Interesting point. Endurance is not my strong suit. :)

  8. This is a beautiful outfit. The colours in that top are amazing - perhaps you could take a tuck in it if it bothers you as it really is a lovely top on you! I love the lip colour you have on too - very pretty.

    1. Great idea! I'm going to try to get used to it, but if it becomes too obnoxious a couple of darts to make it smaller may do the trick.

  9. You look stunning and so color coordinated! I actually love the neckline. I have stumpy neck (nope, I'm no flamingo, more like hippo) so lower neckline like this and cowl are the best. I have to say this week's outfit is my favorite of yours!

  10. Hi Lisa, I like this look on you. I think for you not to worry about the neckline you can put a short statement necklace on it so it covers up the chest a bit. You look so chic and great in this one keep it up! ^_^

  11. Hello Lisa,
You look marvellous in brown and neutrals, I love the neckline of the top. It is very flattering.
I know the problem with the shoes oh so well. I alway wanna sort out shoes I can only take for sitting. But when they are too cute, I put them back in my shoe case for the next time to suffer in.

  13. I think most of wardrobe is like that! ;) I'm trying to be more picky when it comes to fit and practicality, but I still have things I just am not ready to part with, even if they are a little irritating.

I really like the shoes. Maybe they'll become more comfortable as you wear them? (Hey, it happens. Just not often.) ;)

    1. Yes, I'm "trying" to learn to be more picky. Still have work to go on that.

  14. I'm so thrilled to see you in a bit of a heel ... practical, and comfy as well, but cute. So cute! Great outfit, and the top is completely modest!
Almost everything in my wardrobe is off just a little.
    But then, so am I!
    We persevere.
    Have a great week, Gorgeous.

  15. I want a Value Village in my town! You've certainly found some great pieces and put them together so well. Yes! I have clothing that I love, but makes me a little crazy - sometimes I pin looser tops to my b-straps so they don't bug me all day! The close up shows your beautiful skin - love it!
