Teal and Black Paisley Printed Pants

Hi!  I've been missing this week because of the move, but I'm still around.  We are finally getting settled and beginning to get back to normal.
These pants are newly thrifted.  I never thought I'd be one to buy patterned pants for myself, but I just really liked them so I thought I'd go out on a limb and try this trend finally.  I bought these and one other pair with a floral pattern and more springtime colors that include blue, yellow, green and coral. 
Today was our final walk through at our old place, a lunch date, and a shopping trip to look for bedroom curtains and a small dinette set for our dining room.
My wardrobe was previously along 2 walls in large, open storage organizers where I could see everything I own at a glance (while sitting in my chair at the computer)...both on shelves and hanging.  Now everything is divided into 2 large closets w/ doors (in 2 separate bedrooms) and a large dresser....so it is quite an adjustment for me to put together outfits and figure out what I'm going to wear when I can't see everything at once and get ideas.  I'm going to have to get used to this new dressing process.
Also...I have not been able to find a location to set my camera to take photos that don't cut off my feet or look dark or blurry.  So, I'm doing the best I can.

Folding Clothes for Small Space Storage

This move has been an eye opening experience.  I knew I had a lot of clothes, but since having to find space for them in our new and downsized home reality has certainly set in.  I had a thrifting problem and had let my shopping get way out of hand.  Thus far I have donated about 75 items of clothing I would guess....and I still have more than will fit into 2 large closets.  My husband has graciously offered up the larger master closet and he has taken the smaller one...because he does not hoard clothing like I do. haha  So I get the large closet in both bedrooms.

I have taken so many clothes off of hangers and folded them and put them in drawer storage as shown in this video.  This has been a tremendous help and I really love this method of freeing up hanging space.  I have folded all of my summer and winter pajamas (and my husbands t-shirts) in this manner too and it has made a huge difference in how neat and organized my drawers are!

I do prefer having things hanging where I can see them all and they get less wrinkled, but sometimes we have to relent and go to Plan B.  Even though Plan B is in place, I STILL have more hanging clothes than will fit.  Today I am making another pass through to see if there are other items I can let go of.  (I need to let go of about 50 more items.  I know everything remaining are things I like, but I'm going to have to reduce my wardrobe even further.  It is something that I want to do though.  I had fun shopping and gathering...but it feels good to let go and become less excessive.

Another thing I've done is take my 17 or so pairs of jeans off of hangers and folded those as well.  I will have a large dresser and 2 tall bookcases to work with as storage so the jeans will find their home folded on the shelving unit.
I'm so glad we have a couple of weeks transition period between our current and new home so that I have time to move, sort, and downsize my wardrobe in stages as I see how things are fitting into our new lifestyle.

Blimey!

Feeling a wee bit Irish in this bright lime green.  I really loved this lime green/black scarf when I spotted it a week or so ago while thrifting.  It worked perfectly with the blouse and sweater I already had.  I got these new black jeans that day also.  I actually bought 2 pair of black jeans because I needed a smaller size than the ones I'd tried to alter. I liked both pair I tried on and they were a good price.  When I got home I realized I had another pair with tags still attached in the proper size hanging in my closet that I'd thrifted quite a while back and had forgotten about.  Oops.  Now I have 4 pair of black jeans! :O  I'll get rid of the larger pair I altered though.  You may be seeing quite a lot of black jeans in my outfits posts. haha
Next I need to search for some new white jeans and slacks.  

Oh...and I ended up wrapping this scarf around rather than leaving it hanging like this.  I think the wrapped effect looked nicer, but I did not get photos.
