Mules, or open backed slip on shoes w/ heel, are fast becoming my favorite style of shoe. I like the look of them, but also the comfort factor. (Flats or loafers are my other favorite.) I was reading about mules and it was said that shoes used to convey status. Mules were worn in the Baroque Period by aristocratic women and men.
Today they can be dressy (think beaded, etc.) or more casual like I'm wearing below.

This year I haven't worn my mules at all in favor of shooties and booties. I saw a blog post recently that said that mules were going to be big for this spring.
ReplyDeleteThe baroque version is fantastic but I prefer your comfy style. I have not worn mules for many years, I always think I need more foodhold.
ReplyDeleteThe mermaid scarf and the marine accessories are gorgeous, perfect for you.
I like your scarf, it is of so beautiful colour. And the brooch is very interesting.
ReplyDeleteIt's too bad that men don't have as many style options as they did in, say, Louis XIV's court! I love your mules, and that pin with that fantastic jewel-toned scarf.
ReplyDeleteYour scarf is such a beautiful color and I love the brooch. So pretty.
ReplyDeleteYour beautiful thrift finds continue to amaze me. I love that scarf and pin together. The jewel tones really complement your perfect complexion.
