Pouf de Do

I love a good hair pouf.  So many days my hair is a mess, so I just tease, pull it back in a ponytail or clip it up and go.
I also ended up really liking this lipstick.  I think it was the first time I'd worn it.  It is an extremely inexpensive brand (Wet n Wild) and called Copper.  I decided I wanted more of this same color since it will be a good color for fall and winter and will look nice with many items in my wardrobe.  So I ran in the drug store before we did our grocery shopping and bought the 4 tubes they had left of it since the price said only 99 cents.  But...super bargain!  When they rang me up, with my card discount, it was only 69 cents each!  I think that's what I had paid for my original tube.  I have so many lipsticks....because I stock up when I find one I like at these prices.  I like having what I call a Lifetime Supply of things like these because I'm afraid they'll be discontinued.  Would this behavior fall in the realm of hoarding? haha  I have not filled up all rooms of our home with my items, so I don't think I need an intervention just yet. Do you have anything you like to stock up on?

I'm also carrying my cute new leopard Guess purse today.
Thrifted Items:  Jeans, dark carnation melon top $2.80 Croft & Barrow, brown cardigan, brown scarf $1.60, wood bracelet $1, purse $5.99 Guess, sandals $6.99 Anne Klein.

  1. Lisa, I feel you on stocking up. It's definitely a good idea because inevitably the item one likes gets discontinued. Victoria's Secret used to have a product called Dream Angels Heavenly luminous body lotion. I stocked up and guess what? They stopped making it. Now I have to find it on eBay.
Anyway, the lipstick is a great color on you.

    1. Yes, I've ordered on ebay too (well, had my husband do it for me since he's an ebay officianado) a few tubes of another particular lipstick shade I like that was discontinued (another brand) and also a few of the shimmery blue eye shadows I wear. I think that's been discontinued as well...or at least I can't find it in stores.
Dream Angels Heavenly luminous body lotion sounds divine. :) I couldn't resist.

  2. Pouf de do! You made me laugh. I love your hairstyle today. Yes, I do collect lipsticks too. But mine are all different colors. I always think I'm going to find one perfect color but I like variety and change way too much to decide on one. My favorite brand is Revlon because I have super dry lips. Discontinuing always seems to happen with the good stuff. Like a DiGornio's pizza they made years ago. It was a vegetable one and was my favorite. Why would they stop making something so scrumptious? I have no idea.

    1. My lips and skin are both dry. My favorite moisturizer is Nivea (for very dry rough skin) and I use Nivea Creme on my face. They're a little greasy, but my skin just soaks it up and needs every drop.
I dab the creme on my lips at night before bed...or vaseline.
Oooooh, that would be awful to have a food you love become discontinued...because you can't really keep a frozen pizza forever...even if you had the extra freezer space.

  3. You definitely have a knack for forming eye catching outfits. I love the way you combine colors and your hair always looks great to me. I'm in the middle of examining how I will transition between seasons and I'm already planning an outfit like you have on today. And boy do I need lipstick. It never occurred to me to try wet and wild. It seems as if I am always getting one of the expensive ones that looks pretty in the tube and awful on me. 8 bucks down the drain. Loved your blog.

    1. Yes, I've had that problem with many make up products too....I think I'll like them, but don't so much once I put it on. Lipsticks I've had pretty good luck with...at least recently anyway.
Good luck with the assembly of your fall/winter wardrobe transition!
Oh! And I just remembered. I also add a gloss on top of the lipstick most times. I only have two glosses that I use and they are by Neutrogena. A little more expensive, but I like them because they're a bit more tinted that the cheaper wet and wild brand...and I normally only use one of those two. One is in a dark pinkish color and the other is more melon

  4. That is a great color lippy on you. And, at that price, it was smart to buy in bulk. You're okay with your shopping-habit until you need to rent storage space. :-)

    1. Oh, I love how you see things. I was "smart" to buy in bulk. I'm going to remember that.

  6. One of my favorite lipsticks is a NYC one from Walmart in the color Rose Gold. I bought a couple of them. They are a bit more expensive thatn Wet n Wild, but still affordable at less than $3.00. I find the NYC cosmetics are really good for their price.
I love everything about your outfit, but especially your hair. It is so pretty like this.

  7. How do you get your "poof" to stay all day? Mine tends to go flat pretty quickly... tutorial???

Also, loving your little scarf :)

  8. Wow, Lisa, you look fantastic! Also, thank you for your recent comments on my blog.

I too tend to the hoarding of "back-up" items and products, and sometimes "lifetime supply" - I'm always so bitter about things I love being discontinued! :)

  9. Cute outfit, nice colors on you. Your hair always looks so nice. Since I switched to nontoxic cosmetics, I've had trouble finding the same color lipsticks/glosses I wore previously. The color you are wearing is very pretty.
