DKNY Draped Cardigan

I have never had a cardigan in this style, but I really love it.  It's a lightweight t-shirt like fabric. I liked the gray and white stripe also, but I cannot come up with another color to wear it with other than a white top.  I tried other colors, but nothing looked quite right.  Any suggestions for what else might work with it?  I do have a pair of black jeans I recently thrifted...so maybe those?  If I were more "with it" I would have added brown accessories rather than the boring old black, but I have a difficult time venturing into that territory.  I didn't take enough time to plan out that look, but I really like it.  Maybe I should work on that for the next time I break out this cardi.

Thrifted Items:  White jeans $4.50 Amanda by Gloria Vanderbilt, the two white tank tops I've layered, cardigan $5.99 , pewter leaf necklace $4 , black leather purse $8 Fossil, black wedges $6.99 Unison .

  1. The cardigan would look great with a yellow top and jeans. The grey is a neutral and you could wear it with MANY colors actually.

    1. Oh, yes! Blue jeans! I didn't even think of that. I think I'd feel more open to different colored tops if I was working it in with blue jeans. Excellent idea, Terri. Thank you.

  2. i agree with terri above that this has many possibilities. plus, it's got stripes which would be great for pattern mixing.

    1. Thank you for the pattern mixing suggestion. That will take some real work for me to figure that one out. haha I doooo have a grey t-shirt with small stars on it I thought would be cute, but the t-shirt is a little small at the moment. I do want to try that combo though.

  3. I think blue jeans would go fine with it :)
White pants do fine too, bright colored scarf, shoes and bag would look great with this combo :)

    1. I'm so happy to be getting your suggestion. That addition of some bright color sounds like a fun idea.

  4. I think you could wear this with yellow, black or red. Really, grey is a neutral so almost anything would go with it. I'm with you about the prints, though. I just can't quite figure out how to do them right :)

    1. Those are good ideas, Cyndi. Yellow may be one of the first colors I try with it....and maybe add in a brown purse and shoes to break away from the traditional.

  5. Lisa, my first reaction was PINK! The color you look fab in. A cobalt blue would be pretty too as would yellow, a rich buttery yellow. Turquoise comes to mind too. It is a great piece and I know you will find lots to wear with it.
