Beachy Palette

The colors in my outfit today remind me of ocean and beach....which makes me feel good.  The shirt even has a print of sand dollars, seahorses and coral.  My gold necklace is of a sand dollar.  I've had it a long time and don't even know where it came from, but it's one of my favorites.
I have 4 pair of Gloria Vanderbilt jeans (rosy pink, pale yellow, white, and black).   I just like the way they fit me better than a lot of others.  I've randomly picked them up when thrifting...not really noticing what brand they are until I get home.  Half the time I get in the dressing room with a ton of pants to try on and realize as I'm trying to pull them up over my booty that they are those low cut style that I can't stand on me.  These fit at a comfortable spot around my waist and I don't have to worry about revealing anything I don't want seen.  My daughter and I were out browsing a few regular retail stores on Monday and I discovered they sell this brand at Kohl's.  I didn't know that.  I always thought of Gloria Vanderbilt as vintage. haha

Thrifted Items:  White jeans $4.50 Amanda by Gloria Vanderbilt, t-shirt, tan blazer $6.99 Ralph Lauren, purse $8 Nine West, wedge sandals, bracelets.
Gold Watch $16.99 = Target

  5. You're wearing another outfit in a favorite color combo...looks fab on you. I have a lot of GV stuff...totally agree with you about the low waisted pants...somewhere between that and mom jeans is perfect. Your pedi look great!

    1. Yes, exactly my thoughts on the jeans fit, Donna. My pedi is far from perfect, but it'll do for me. I'm doing it myself this year. I never knew I was able to do it well enough, but it seems to be working out okay. I may have to break down this summer and get one nice, professional one though. My feet can use all the help they can get. ha

  6. Beautiful colors. I very rarely try to thrift jeans, but I am in hearty agreement about the Gloria Vanderbilt cut--they are not for the youngsters.

    1. I remember 10 years or so ago...my daughter bending down to do something in her bedroom and her pants coming down so low that I viewed a tattoo she had gotten on her lower back, but had failed to tell me about. She was of age, but I had been shocked momentarily because I'd not wanted her to mark her body with something ugly or that she might regret later...and I don't think she'd intended for me to know she'd done it because she knew how I felt about it. Thankfully she had made an extremely good choice and had a few words tastefully inscribed in Latin from the bible (and maybe a dove w/ olive branch?...memory fails). So I found a way to live with it. haha
