From Work to Ballet

This is what I wore to work yesterday and then below that is what I wore to the see Don Quixote at the ballet that evening.  I was rushed to get ready once I got home from work and did not have time to do my hair properly and was unhappy with it so I removed that from the photo.   The black sweater is a little large, but I bought it because I liked the detachable faux fur collar that I'm hoping to wear on other things someday.  I know I have a coat that it works well on.  The red skirt was in honor of the upcoming Valentine's Day.  I believe this may be hand made.

Thrifted Items:  Brown pants, brown turtleneck, tan jacket, bracelets, red skirt $4.99, black sweater w/faux fur collar $6.50, black turtleneck, black booties, jumbo pearl necklace $1, black/silver belt, silver clutch (not shown).

  1. Love both outfits. That pearl necklace is so cool. I have one similar, but not quite as nice.
Was the ballet great? I have never been to a ballet, I would love to though. I took lessons when I was in my early 20's. Loved doing it.

    1. Hi, Debbi. The ballet was fun. We go about...mmmm...maybe 6 times or so a year. Very interesting that you took ballet. I've never had any dance instruction. Had never been to the ballet till I married my husband and moved out here a few years ago, so it has been enjoyable.

  2. Like both outfits and really like the light colored jacket in the first outfit. That will be great this spring...

  4. Lisa, I love the red skirt (actually both outfits). I have a red skirt that I thrifted and it looks exactly like the one you're wearing...until now, I wasn't sure what I would wear it with or how to wear it. Thanks for the inspiration.
