Black Friday Shopping Sneak Peak

I only went to Goodwill yesterday...with the intent of making a quick trip in and out.  I really didn't need anything and didn't expect to find anything.  Boy, was I wrong.  That's how it goes when thrifting.  Sometimes I find too many things for my own good. haha  Below are some of my favorites.
This is a very bold striped trench ($8.98).  I thought it had a french look to it.
      A golden cardigan ($3.59).
I really love the skirt ($2.39) above.  It's in a black, cream, and olive colored flower and leaf print.  I'll be wearing it with a simple olive colored v-neck tee and black blazer this week.
I also love this sleeveless cardigan ($5.99) with faux fur down the front.
 Pretty blue scarf ($2.39)
I thought this knee length denim jacket ($4.79) was so cute.
I'll be wearing this red maxi skirt ($4.79) sometime this month.  This may actually be my Christmas ouftit...to be worn with brown sweater and boots.
Red knee length jacket ($7.79)
Oversized cardigan ($11.98).
Shimmery black, gold, cream scarf ($2.39).

Plaid print trench in dark gray ($7.78).

Did you shop and find any goodies?

OOTD: Mushroom and Olive

Both the cardigan and loafers are new.  I liked the mushroom colored cardigan because of it's unique front design with pockets.  The olive loafers were purchased for their soft leather comfort.

Navy Blue Blazer

This navy blazer has not made an appearance in quite some time.  I cannot even remember the last time I may have worn it.  I seem to go through phases.  At one point I could not get enough of blazers and found them at such extraordinarily low prices when thrifting that I amassed a number of them.  I have since gotten rid of many and have a handful or so of this style remaining.  This season I have turned to cardigans as my layer of choice.  Although I am enjoying the switch to cardigans, it was nice to pull this piece out for a change.

Geometric Print Top With Oversized Cardigan

I had thrifted this top way back in April, but it had been in my closet with the tags still on.  I really like it paired with the cardigan.  Covering part of it up tones it down and makes the print not so overpowering.  I may still wear it on it's own someday too.

The shoes are Cole Haan and a great buy at only $4.  They have a small heel, are backless, and very comfortable.   I bought these in November 2012.
The necklace was a great find as well.  I love necklaces with circles (and links/loops).

How a Cardigan Can Greatly Increase The Number of Outfits In Your Closet

Just as I was talking (here) about remixing and the potential to raise your outfit quotient with just a single scarf...the same thing can be said about a cardigan.
I can't seem to get enough of this one.  It seems to go with so many things in my wardrobe.  I like wearing it in a more casual way with one of my favorite pairs of jeans and wedged ankle boots (as in this post), but I also liked it here dressing it up a bit more.
The light caramel hue goes well with things of color, but works equally well with neutrals such as black, browns, and grays.
This cardigan was a total steal at only $1.95!  I definitely hit the jackpot with this one.  It fits perfectly into my style vision and I've created numerous outfits by incorporating it....with more to come.  :)

2 Leopards - 1 Leopard = 1 Leopard + Ballet Flats

After seeing these photos I decided on my black ballet flats instead and changed before leaving the house.  I was not happy with these two leopard prints together and the simple black worked much better.
There was just no last minute quick fix for me from the neck up though.  In that case, I give crop tool the command "Off with her head!".  haha

Remixing My Wardrobe Pieces And My Process For Doing It

None of these pieces are new.  I've worn this all before...but not in this combination.  It's fun to remix your wardrobe pieces and come up with new outfits.
I'm forever being inspired by other bloggers.  I get ideas from what I see (it may be from a color combination, a particular clothing item, etc.), I realize I have similar pieces in my closet, then I pull out the items and put together an outfit.  I'll photograph it for future reference.  I even make up folders by month and then drop these photos into the monthly folder in which I think I might like to wear that particular outfit.

I'm always tweaking and adjusting these folders...moving things around.  I have outfits planned for up to mid year 2015! ha  I think the planning and putting together of outfits is the most fun part of this little hobby of mine (besides the actual bargain hunting part).
I have a master folder that contains 0ver 900 outfits I've put together and photographed.  Yikes!  I try to discard some of my least favorites from time to time or ones which contain pieces I no longer own.  Many of the outfit combinations I have put together I've never even worn.  Some are planned for a future date and the others I always think I may get to.... someday.
You can create a ton of different outfits starting with just a single scarf.  And I have a multitude of those!   :)
