These soft white shades with this super soft sweater and it's large collar paired with my faux pearls just felt a bit luxurious. My boss called me a Snow Princess. Feeling like a Snow Princess every once in a while is kind of nice. :) Today I'll be linking up with Patti at Not Dead Yet Style for Visible Monday.
White Slacks $6.99 Dockers

OMG, these shoes are so comfy. I've only worn them a couple of times, but I'm in love. Should we have gone out a couple more times before I made that proclamation? Flats are comfortable, but I do like a shoe with a bit of heel to help elongate my short legs a little. (I'm 5'4" btw.) I wish I had a pair of brown ones just like them because I think I tend to wear brown shoes much more often than black. But... come to think of it....I do have a pair of nearly identical (to each other) black and brown mules up in my closet that I wore like crazy a couple of years ago, but not so much lately. I need to work on incorporating them into my outfits. I have gotten rid of 2 pair of shoes this week that weren't working for me... so a bit more progress is being made in my weeding out endeavor.
I am so glad I've discovered from other bloggers the style of wearing a shirt under a shirt and leaving the shirt underneath untucked. (I know...that's probably an old trick...and I'm an old dog learning [slowly] many basic style techniques these last few years.) It's a casual look that allows me to cover the hip area that I prefer to keep as hidden as possible. I never did like to tuck in shirts (except maybe when I was at my very thinnest...which has not been in a good looooong while, ha) and I rarely do it. But I sure do like a good dose of bright pink. :)
I'm not fond of the look of this blazer in these photos. I may try styling it again with a different top and pants...or skirt.... and if there is no improvement I will let this one go. I do have several blazers, so I'll not be lacking. Also, blazers are an item I seem to find quite often at very low prices and I do tend to keep my eye out for them when I'm thrifting. So I'm sure I'll run across one in the future that catches my eye for a good price and I'll feel better about purchasing it if I know I've previously let a less favorite one go to make room for the new. I've already made my decision to part with this beaded drawstring handbag. I do like the beadwork, but some of the beaded fringe is missing from the bottom and I never carry it...so I've decided to re-donate this and I'll have no regrets.
I tried these brown jeans on and they were just too baggy, so I attempted to take them in a bit. I've done this with a few pairs of pants I own. Most times it works out as passably wearable for me, but there have been times when I've just ruined the item. It's always a gamble, but I don't have much to lose with these inexpensive thrifted items if I totally destroy them. If it works out...great...if not I'll throw them away and go thrift a pair that actually fits. I'm trying not to purchase any new pants just yet though, so I was happy the alterations I made on these turned out okay.
